The whole invasion thing had, oddly enough, made Proto rather nostalgic. It had been chaotic and tense, which reminded him of home, but it had also been... confusing. Proto understood how things worked on the streets of Bahamut, but Fandom was something else completely.

And so he was sitting on a couch with some junk food, but no TV.

He wanted to go home. At least for a little while.

"Meditating?" Proto gave her a look, then burst out laughing. "Not even close."

He waved at the screen. "If you want to watch something..." Be his guest!

"You kind of had the same look my roommate has when I bother him during his meditation." She grinned, sitting in one of the chairs. "I don't have anything in particular I wanted to watch, it's just different that it wasn't on. My name's Momoko. Akatsutsumi Momoko. Have we met?"

She was totally sure they hadn't.

"Proto. And I'm pretty sure we haven't." He held out a bag of chips in case she wanted some.

Had no one told him you shouldn't feed a Momoko? She'll just keep coming back!

"Ah! Thank you!" She leaned forward for a few chips and sat back again. "So what were you doing, then?"

"Thinking?"

Or... something like that, anyway.

"Thinking? Are you worried about finals or something?"

"Nah." Proto waved that suggestion away. "Just thinking about home."

"Oooooh!" He must totally be new, then. Which totally explained why she didn't know him. "Aren't you going home for break, though?"

"I don't know yet," he answered quietly.

"Eh? You haven't decided either? If I go home, it means a lot of studying and working out and I won't have any fun. I'm totally thinking of just staying here."

"I haven't had word whether we're going back or not." It wasn't up to him.

"We?"

"Me and Makita." Proto cocked his head. "Do you know her?"

"Ah! Makita? I do! Well, a little. She's in charge of Gun club! She's really good, too! You two are from the same world?"

Proto nodded. And smiled just a bit proudly. "She's the best."

"Uh uh." She shook her head. Something about that smile, though, had Momoko smiling back. "I'd totally have to see her and Triela challenge each other before I change fanclubs."

"Triela?" Proto asked, sounding doubtful.

"Long blonde hair, always wearing a nice suit but still totally looking uncomfortable in it because hates being girly at all?" Momoko grinned and rolled her eyes. "Triela's my friend and the other leader of the Gun club. She's totally awesome; just ask Makita!" She bit into a potato chip. Now she was totally going to ask them why they never challenged each other.

"I think I've seen her around. But there's no way she could be a match for Makita." Because if she was, well... she'd have to be amazing.

Momoko snorted. Totally not something to do in front of a cute new boy, but there you go. "She totally is! And more!" Someone was a FAN you see, as well as a friend.

Proto shook his head. "You've just never seen Makita in action." Being at the range was totally different, after all.
