No more school for a few weeks could only mean one thing!

... Well, okay, for Zack it meant a few things. He had options, after all. He could take on some missions back home, but he was kind of iffy about that sort of thing after all of the excitement there last week. Or perhaps he could sneak back to at least take in the tree ceremony in Midgar, but even that kind of seemed like a bad idea right now. There were always things going on around here, though. Even if the relative peace and quiet seemed to be boring him out of his skull.

Clearly, on a Saturday morning with two weeks free from worry about classes, the best thing to do was to find himself a comfy place to sit, grab the remote control, and turn the TV to the most action-packed, violent show he could possibly find.

... Even if it meant that even the action movies were Christmas-themed right now.

[Open! Zack and I are totally in the same boat right now, sans mission trauma, so I'll be about all day being booored at you.]

"That's what someone else told me," Bod said and chuckled a bit. "Ender suggested maybe taking up a skill or even acquiring a job of some sort."

[intraspective]

"Both," Ino said impishly. "You know? I think the diner is hiring? Even if you can't cook, I bet you could take orders and stuff."

[therewaslife]

"You think I could manage working in a diner?" Bod asked, looking thoughtful. "It'd definitely be something new for me and I do need that."

[intraspective]

"It shouldn't be too complicated," she said helpfully. "Especially if you're not cooking. You'd have to get the drinks--you've seen the machines though, yeah? And I bet you'd be shown in training how to work them. And if you have problems remembering what people want to order, you can write it down. A lot of people who work in places like that write things down just to prevent mistakes from happening."

"I think I might try," he said, mind already working with the possibilities. "And, even if I don't have to cook, I think I'd learn how to cook some. It would be difficult to work in such a place and not pick up on some things."

In Bod logic, that meant Ino's idea was sound.

[intraspective]

Ino's smile at that was real. "It would be," she said, "and I think you'd have fun with all those things to learn."

"Well, I do have the time now," he said and his laugh was only slightly bitter. "I suppose it can't hurt at all to try."

[intraspective]

"Let me know how it goes?" she asked, leaning over a bit. "And if you ever want to talk--you know where I live."

"I do, thank you," Bod said and smiled at her. "Thank you for listening. I still feel awful but I know it won't last forever."

[intraspective]

"It won't," she said, meeting his gaze. "And it's okay, too, if it hurts for a while. Don't let people tell you how long it ought to hurt or nothing. Everyone deals differently and so long as you ain't doing nothing but bein' upset 'bout the whole thing, it's okay to take a while to recover."

"I promise, I'll deal with everything in my own time and that's all I'll do," he said and smiled slightly. "I'll take my time and...hope for the best."
