In Front of the Dorms, Friday Morning
Christmas was always a very ambivalent time for Calvin, attempts at good behaviour spawned from the desire for presents competing with, well, his Calvinness. This year hadn't been as much of a struggle...at least until the snow had started falling.
That had tipped the balance well and truly in the favour of Calvin giving up completely on getting anything but coal (and the odd can of tuna courtesy of Hobbes) in his stocking.
He had been up since the very wee hours, building what he was quite certain was the most awesome snowfort in the history of ever, then stockpiling ammo. As Hobbes kept watch, he carefully patted yet another slushball into shape, waiting for his first unsuspecting victim to make their appearance.

A "Victim" Approaches
Okay, maybe relieved wasn't quite the right word, but this early in the day it was unlikely anyone was around to see her grin.
Re: A "Victim" Approaches
No, wait, this was Calvin, of course he'd have thrown it.
Re: A "Victim" Approaches
She spun on her heel, trying to determine where exactly the missile had come from.
Re: A "Victim" Approaches
Thanks a lot, Hobbes, wave at the scary blonde red-leather girl, why don't you?
Re: A "Victim" Approaches
She ducked down and started scooping up snow into a ball, before creeping towards the fort.
Re: A "Victim" Approaches
That'd work, right?
Re: A "Victim" Approaches
Re: A "Victim" Approaches
Flailing for the nearest of his prepared snowballs, he threw it at Cara, hoping to buy a little time to escape or something.
Re: A "Victim" Approaches
And to collect more ammunition.
Of Course You Realise This Means War...
Thanks to Calvin's ill-advised choice of target, Cara was quite intent on proving him wrong, and he'd have to emerge from his snow-fort eventually.
Of course there was an awful lot of snow around, far too much for even two very focused and determined people to throw...
Re: Of Course You Realise This Means War...
If anyone were to tell him 'Merry Christmas' or 'Happy Holidays' this morning before he got some rest, he might actually break out a 'Humbug.'
Honestly, he probably needed a snowball upside the head.
[OOC: Go ahead. Free shot on the distracted guy!]
Re: Of Course You Realise This Means War...
The latter won out.
Besides, coming from Cara a snowball to the head was practically an affectionate greeting.
Re: Of Course You Realise This Means War...
He put his bags on the ground, just in case this was going to have to retaliate.
Re: Of Course You Realise This Means War...
A muffled "Liar!" came from the direction of the fort as the hair ducked back out of view.
Re: Of Course You Realise This Means War...
Re: Of Course You Realise This Means War...
He started packing several snowballs together. Revenge would be his, oh yes.
Re: Of Course You Realise This Means War...
But it wasn't like she hadn't fought multiple enemies at once before, she could handle this, especially since it looked like Calvin wasn't leaving his fort any time soon.
Re: Of Course You Realise This Means War...
Bruce was leaning slightly to his right just in case he needed to dive and scoop up some more snow. But he figured he'd give diplomacy a shot for the moment. "We're even right now, Cara. Do you really want to take this further?"
Re: Of Course You Realise This Means War...
She didn't really feel the need to clarify which him she was talking about.
Re: Of Course You Realise This Means War...
A tumbleweed would have been thematically appropriate at that moment, but it wouldn't have fit in with the season. Too bad.
Re: Of Course You Realise This Means War...
Look, she'd had a very stressful month, and found violence extremely cathartic. Even the mock, snowy kind.
Re: Of Course You Realise This Means War...
Re: Of Course You Realise This Means War...
Not that it'd be hard for Bruce to figure out which snowdrift she was using for cover, given that red on white was never going to win awards for seamless blending in.
Re: Of Course You Realise This Means War...
Re: Of Course You Realise This Means War...
That didn't stop her frowning when she caught sight of Bruce's makeshift shield. While she tried to figure out the most effective way of dealing with that, she started semi-randomly tossing snowballs at him, hoping either some would sneak through or he'd tire himself out deflecting them all.
Re: Of Course You Realise This Means War...
Re: Of Course You Realise This Means War...
But Cara was Mord'Sith, cold meant nothing to her. Not when Bruce was close enough that she could go from throwing snowballs at him to simply attempting to shove a double-handful of snow down his shirt.
[Craaaaaaashing. SP?]
Re: Of Course You Realise This Means War...
He would have just tried to shove it down the front of her leathers, but he was a gentleman.
[OOC: Sure! I'll be around later.]
Re: Of Course You Realise This Means War...
It was debatable which of them would be more surprised by the fact her reaction to having clumps of wet, clammy snow dripping down her back was to start giggling.

She didn't.

So of course he bent down, grabbed a handful of snow, and flung it wildly at her before dashing toward his discarded bag.
Re: Of Course You Realise This Means War...
She made two snow balls, one for each hand and charged foward. "Banzai!"
