Third Floor Common Room | Thursday Evening | 1/6

Peter Bishop was having a pretty good day. He had ordered a couple pizzas from the local pizzeria just to tempt people into the common room.

He was tempting people because he'd set up a Three Card Monte game on a table, and was practicing it. Just for fun, of course. But if anyone wanted to bet, well, he'd do it. With any non-telepath.

Technically he needed another person to work this fully, or so he'd read. But this was mainly just prestidigitation practice.

"Find the lady, find the lady," he said, practicing his patter.

"Well for one thing, when I graduate I go back a few years in time," Peter said. "The other is just... wanting to know that I can do it, really."

Ooooh, snarky. Peter happened to like that. He grinned and shook his head. "No such luck. 1997 to be exact, but you'd be surprised how many people will still throw away their money on this sort of thing."

"Ramona," she said, waving with a few fingers. "Flowers. I'm new. You seem too comfortable doing card tricks in public for you to be, too, though."

"Peter Bishop," he replied, giving a little half wave in return. "And no, I'm really not. And not to sound egotistical, it's because I'm smarter than most of the kids at the school. Definitely not the toughest or most talented, but one of the smartest."
