Second Floor Common Room; Sunday Morning

Leo was wide awake after radio and he wasn't comfortable enough to spend all his time stalking Fixer-Uppers yet, so he decided to check out the common room on his floor. It seemed nice, not as high-tech as cabin nine, but it had a TV and food so he really couldn't find much to complain about.

He put the TV onto ESPN and idly listened to the anchors talking about the playoff games today while making himself breakfast. Southwestern omelets. The actual, good, Southwestern kind. Not that crap rolled up into a burrito that you got at McDonalds for two bucks.

"Sorry to bring up the bad imagery, dude," Leo said. He didn't look sorry at all. "You could wear swim trunks in the shower?"

"...I could, I suppose," Bod agreed, nodding. "You don't think I'd get questions about that? From my roommate at the very least but I'm sure the squirrels would find a way to tell the world as well."

"You could tell the truth," Leo said. "That you were afraid of the squirrels seeing you naked."

"And you don't think that would get me the reputation of being the boy that's afraid of squirrels?" Bod asked, snickering. "Quite the thing to be known for."

"There are worse things to be known for, dude." He would know. "Besides, those squirrels are creepy. Totally understandable if you were afraid of them."

"Does that mean that if you're in the shower one night and you turn and see a squirrel sitting on one of the knobs, you wouldn't be a bit surprised?" Bod asked, curious.

Leo laughed. "I'd probably scream like a girl, to be honest, and then pass it off like I stubbed my toe."

Bod laughed because really, Leo was a big enough guy and picturing him screaming like a girl was funny. He thought the laughter was deserved.

"Would your roommate believe that, do you think?"

"You know, I'm not sure," Leo said. "I don't know her very well yet. She doesn't seem like the type to believe my lies though."

"Who's your roommate, if I can ask?" Bod wondered curiously. "I've been rooming with Jacob over there for a year. He tends to laugh at me more than judge me for anything."

"Ramona?" Leo said. "Has crazy hair that she says will change color every few weeks."

"I haven't met her but I haven't met many new kid as of yet," he said, shaking his head. "She changes her hair color that often? Isn't that bad for your hair?"

Obviously Leo would know the answer to this question.

"I'm...not entirely sure. Don't know too many people that dye their hair," Leo admitted. "But she didn't seem too worried about it and she wasn't, like, going bald or anything."

"You don't think she'll try and make that a roommate bonding thing, do you?" Bod wondered, glancing at Leo's hair and trying not to smile. "Would you dye your hair if she asked?"

"Me? No way, I like my hair the way it is." Yes, the entire curly mess of it. "With my luck the chemicals would light my head on fire."

It wouldn't hurt him but it would still be a pain in the ass.

"Are they that strong?" Bod asked, eyes widening. "Why would a girl do that? It sounds dangerous."

"I mean, I don't think they'll kill you or anything but I've heard it kinda stings your head," Leo said. "And as for why girls do it...your guess is as good as mine, dude."

"I'd volunteer to try just for having the experience but..." He made a face. "I just got my hair cut and apparently that was a bad thing to do so dying it would just make it worse, I think."

"Why would cutting your hair be bad?" Leo asked. "I mean, I think you look good."

"Thank you," Bod said and laughed, fighting back a blush at the compliment. "And before, I had longer hair that fell into my eyes and around my ears. Apparently, I don't look like myself anymore."

"Ah. I guess I can sort of get that if someone knew you well," he said, thinking of Piper when Aphrodite prettied her up. "Well since this is the first time we've met, this hair is how I think you look as yourself."

Did that make sense? He thought it did.

"Thank you, I appreciate it. I'll regret getting this haircut a little less now," Bod said and laughed. "And your hair is nice too. If you should ever get it cut, I'll be sure to tell you that it doesn't make you look any different."
