6th Floor, Tuesday Morning

Quinn woke up shivering under a blanket on the couch. It was freezing, and she was pretty sure that fireplace hadn't been there when she fell asleep. She was going to have a stern talk with the weather gods about the quick-change act.

She stood up groggily, blanket around her like a cape, and decided to try to make coffee. She'd be less cold if she moved, right?

And then she realized the power was out, and there was no way to make coffee without power.

She could already tell this was not going to be her favorite day.

[OOC: Open to anybody who fell asleep upstairs last night! Or anyone who wanders up. I'm not fussy.]

Jake was pretty much just looking for food. The whole it being colder thing had occurred to him, but it wasn't like he ever cared and a shirt was warm enough for him. The lack of power? Now that was annoying and he ventured up a floor higher to see if he'd have better luck in there.

"I don't suppose there's any electricity here?"

"That's what you get for partying and not inviting me," he snorted. "Did I miss any pillow fights?"

She could totally hit him over the head for that.

"Evil," he laughed. "See if I get you pizza later."

"Last time they did anyway," Jake said, wondering if he'd been assuming too much. "Some of the businesses in town have back up generators. So unless those are down too..."

"How can you not be cold?" Dana demanded, her teeth chattering.

Oh yeah, he was definitely smirking now in a Cold? What cold? way.

"It's a wolf thing," he stated as if that should be obvious.

Scully gave him a very cranky look, then reached over to check his temperature, and blinked. "You're burning up!" Usually she'd be worried but... "That is so not fair." Brrrrrrrrrr.

[identity profile] need-no-moon.livejournal.com 2011-01-18 08:11 pm (UTC)(link)
"So fair," he argued, snorting at her reaction. "And it's not much fun when the weather gets warmer. I need to freeze a little now so I can get through summer."

[identity profile] showmetheproof.livejournal.com 2011-01-18 08:16 pm (UTC)(link)
"Oh. That explains the shirtlessness better," Scully said, tact on holiday with her lack of coffee and extreme cold. She blinked and turned red. "Forget I said that... what does your temperature usually run, anyway?"

[identity profile] need-no-moon.livejournal.com 2011-01-18 08:24 pm (UTC)(link)
"Hey, if I can show off without getting cold I might as well take advantage of it," he joked. "And it's around 108.9, it's pretty constant."

Scully woke up shivering, and looking around in bewilderment. "It was warm last night. What the...?" She shuddered and then blinked. "Who redecorated?"

Coffeeeee was needed. Yes.

[identity profile] showmetheproof.livejournal.com 2011-01-18 08:12 pm (UTC)(link)
"No coffee?" Scully said, struggling to get vertical, and sounding very pathetic. She rubbed at her eyes and then looked out the window. "And we'd have to go out in that to get it?" Woe!

[identity profile] showmetheproof.livejournal.com 2011-01-18 08:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Scully scrubbed her face, trying to get her brain to engage, and saw some of the sense of that. "True." She made a face. "The pipes are probably frozen, or the water's cold... Ugh." There had to be a way to get a hot shower, magic or someone who knew some other trick. Coffee first though. This was a crisis. "Cold snap. Ridiculous," she said, sounding resigned as she started to gather up her pillow and bedding.

Leda, like the others, woke up shivering. "The fuck?" she grumbled. A quick heating spell made her blanket warmer, but she was still annoyed. "Fucking Fandom."

[identity profile] anarchist-queen.livejournal.com 2011-01-18 08:25 pm (UTC)(link)
The first thing that came to Leda's mind to respond with was something along the lines of 'fuckety fuck fuck fuck'. But she didn't say that. "I didn't slip into Elvish by accident did I?" she said. But then she relented. "It's mostly due to annoyance and discomfort."

[identity profile] anarchist-queen.livejournal.com 2011-01-18 08:58 pm (UTC)(link)
"Shit." Leda could be perfectly prim when she wanted to be. But she very rarely wanted to be. She had no intention of censoring herself for anyone, but she also had enough enemies back home without making any here.

"You want a hot blanket?" she offered.
