George wasn't expecting flowers. In fact, George hadn't ever received flowers before, not from a boy, anyway. So when she first spotted them, she assumed they were sympathy flowers sent for Jono, except they were way too bright and colorful for that.

She read the card over a few times, not even sure what to make of it. He was ... sorry?

Okay, maybe she was sorry, too. He'd said no strings attached, and she'd thrown candy at him. Talk about mixed messages.

She closed her eyes and inhaled the fragrance, feeling ... strangely at peace, suddenly.

Maybe just because something was stupid, didn't make it a mistake.
