icecoldfrost: (Better Than You)

First Floor Rec Room / Kappa Delta Gremlin Meeting / Tuesday Afternoon

As the girls arrived, they'd find that the first floor rec room had a buffet. A waffle buffet, complete with every topping you could imagine.

The boys were going to fight dirty with ice cream? Fine. The girls could do better.

"We are Kappa Delta Gremlin," Emma began crisply, once everyone had food. "Theoretically, a service-oriented sorority aimed at promoting self-esteem and life skills for female - or female-identifying - Fandom students, KDG is here to provide Girl Power and moral support. Which means yes, we'll be doing a spa trip next week and planning fundraisers and finding causes to support. It's perfectly acceptable to be smart and enjoy the finer things in life, despite what social media may tell us."

Quinn was impressed by how together Emma sounded. She'd have to ask her later if she'd done this kind of thing before. "Today we're mingling," she continued. "Get some waffles, find a seat, tell us your name, age, where you're from, and one embarrassing secret."

Her smile held only the slightest hint of a sting. "We won't judge. We're all sisters here."

[OOC: OCD IS UP AND WAFFLES ARE HOT AND TASTY.]

Kate was in a better mood now than she had been earlier, mostly because she'd used the time between class and now for texting with Zach.

And waffles totally made it even better.

Elphaba sighed a little, having to refrain from having any waffles. She sat down instead with a plate with strawberries and a fork.

Karla was in something of a sulky mood today, though waffles went a long way towards cheering her up.

Fortunately, Emma knew to budget for Karla's appetite, because Karla needed a lot of waffles for said cheering.

There was nothing better to quench her thirst than a carb overload, but Caroline tried to hold back given she was supposed to be trying to impress other girls.

Rilla's waffle was covered in a rather obscene amount of whipped cream and strawberries as she glanced around the room for familiar faces.

Her nose wrinkled up a bit as she saw Karla. Other familiar faces, please.

It was nice to get waffles she hadn't made herself, and Sookie, fresh from work, grabbed a few with some strawberries before locating a spot to sit.

Kate gave a vague little wave. "I'm Kate, seventeen, from Overland Park in Kansas," she said. "As for an embarrassing secret, um..." Well, she had a whole bunch of those, none of which she was really inclined to share. "Once, in kindergarten, I had a crush on a boy, and... It was this day where I knew I was gonna have to stay later than most kids, so I hid one of his shoes so he'd have to stay too while they looked for it. They never found it, and I never told anyone that was me. That feels embarrasing now."

Also, only a little bit of it was true.

"My name is Elphaba Thropp, I am sixteen, and my hometown is Rush Margins in Munchkinland," Elphaba said. "I don't really have any embarrassing secrets, though. I don't keep secrets for hope to spare myself from embarrassment. I only keep them from necessity."

Someone didn't quite trust the group, yet.

"Hi!" she started cheerfully. "I'm Caroline Forbes, seventeen, from Mystic Falls, Virginia. Oh God, a secret? Uh, I mean, a lot of people know this, but no one here. My ex-boyfriend is a vampire. It's embarrassing because I knew he was older, but not like, over a hundred and sixty!" And you know, used and abused her.

"Quinn Fabray," Quinn said, with a lazy wave that assumed everyone knew who she was. "Sixteen. From Lima, Ohio. I guess an embarrassing secret is that I once told my mom I had cramps because I didn't feel like going to a youth group mixer."

Which was a little mundane next to the vampire story, yes.

"Hi, I'm Juliet," Juliet said easily. "Sixteen, from New York." Emma got a smile on that. "It's not really embarrassing, but my secret is I'm psychic with my brother. We have that twintuition thing."

In her defense, Juliet thought that was true.

It had taken Karla a long time to figure out the embarrassing secret she was willing to share. "Hi, I'm Karla, I'm sixteen, from the capitol city of Glacia--" yeah, she wasn't giving Emma more information than she needed to locate Hobart, thanks, "and sometimes I used to think about taking Alex Karev up on his stupid, flirty jokes. If only to see his reaction."

Re: Introductions

[identity profile] rilla-myrilla.livejournal.com 2011-01-25 07:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, how Rilla disliked public speaking. "I'm Rilla Blythe, and I'm fourteen, from Glen St. Mary, on Prince Edward Island. That's in Canada." She sounded extremely prim in her effort not to lisp. She stalled on the second portion of the introduction, torn between telling a falsehood and giving Karla ammunition to tease her with.

"When I was quite small, I believed it was a great disgrace to carry a cake in public, and so when I was asked to, I tossed it into the creek instead of taking it to the church social like I'd been asked," she finally added.

"I'm Sookie Stackhouse, from Bon Temps, Louisiana," Sookie shared, waving a little at everyone. It took a moment before she decided on a secret. "I squirted ketchup and mustard on the first boy who ever took me out, back home."

Because he'd had dirty thoughts about her, but she probably still shouldn't have reacted that way.

"I'm Ellie Bartowski, I'm eighteen, and I'm from Encino, California," Ellie said to everyone. "When I was about twelve-years-old, I stole money from my brother's piggy bank so I could buy a New Kids on the Block fanny pack. I told him it was a burglar."

She was embarrassed to admit being a fan of that group more than the actual theft part.

See, compared to that Quinn's actual sister's decision to get married young and be absolutely perfect seemed positively mundane.

She liked her cheer sisters better.
