Magic & Support Reserves, School Lobby, Wednesday Afternoon

They had actually set up a portable DVD player in the lobby today - after putting up posters to point out that reserves were still being held right there.

"We thought it would be a good idea to just do a movie today," Dolf started. Really, it was just that he'd never gotten to do this with the last group of people he was in charge of-- not that he figured they would have done well with films, but anyway. "And we were told this movie is really good, so..."

Yeah, he had no idea what it was, but the Americans had all seemed into it?

"So take some popcorn and enjoy it?" Tara finished. She wasn't that into it herself, but it was in the DVD collection and she had no better ideas. "There's soda, too. And chocolate."

"So there is also something to eat and drink together," Dolf finished. "I know this isn't our usual thing, but it is winter outside. And maybe we can talk about the movie afterwards and see if it has anything that might be useful for us to do later? Ideas are always welcome!"

Keep dreaming about the movie, Dolf.

Aww, watching a film always seemed to be lacking something if there wasn't ice cream, but Alexander would be fine with popcorn as a substitute, yes.

Elphaba had not anticipated a movie day, admittedly. But, rather than letting herself decide it wasn't worth her time before she actually watched it, she settled in to actually pay attention. Popcorn, thankfully, fit right into her diet.

Scully had seen this movie the first time she was a teenager. But not since then.

Wow, fashion had not held up well.

Watching the film, Alexander looked...mostly confused. Which happened to be the expression he usually wore when watching something that didn't feature more familiar topics of people running around in armor, wielding weapons and speaking in fake European accents...

Now those films he could get.

Kennedy had always thought this movie was kind of dumb, but it was a fun kind of dumb; she snagged herself as much popcorn as she thought she could get away with before people got mad at her for hogging it and settled in to watch.

Movie day! Score!

Of course, Stephanie was a little hard-pressed to keep her commentary to herself; the premise of the movie was not at all ridiculous by the standards of her world. At all.

Tara hadn;'t seen this one in years, so she was looking forward to it. Movie days were easy.

NOT EVERYONE LIVES IN AMERICA, GOD.

She says, from the account of the only character she has who actually is American born and raised.

Aha, I wasn't entirely sure what the future world was since I haven't read Marvel for awhile.

....except for all the stuff I've just downloaded. *eyes pile*

Check out the Adventures of Cyclops and Phoenix (I think that was the title) and the following Askani'son mini if you want to break your brain really, REALLY hard to know more about it.

It's technically dead and gone, though; it also kind of pushed 'dystopian future' to the limit.

Dude, Adventures of Cyclops and Phoenix was one of my first forays into Marvelverse.

...it took me a year to recover from the brain breakage enough to continue.

I haven't seen it either and I'm American! Just '80s movie deficient.

I had a deprived childhood?

You haven't seen Legend, either. DEAD TO ME.

(Oh, you must. It's so worth it for pre-crazy pre-famous Tom Cruise with no pants and Lily's evil evil dress. And Tim Curry chewing scenery.)
