The thing about days off from classes was that Nico ended up way more tired than the days he had classes. Luke had kicked his ass in new and inventive ways today that really had Nico repressing the time he'd seen a different Luke use some of those moves. It was a terrifying thought that he wasn't having. Taking Mrs. O'Leary out for a run had helped a little, but after getting cleaned up he just didn't feel like hanging in his own room.

Nico clicked on the common room television and promptly lost the remote, meaning he was just going to sit on the sofa and zone out to some channel entirely devoted to food preparation. Eh, Nico supposed there were worse things to stare at, but the old lady obsessed with butter reminded him of Demeter and the way she force-fed him grain. So disturbing, but better than thinking about his own cousin issues.

"I'm just collecting relatives," he said and actually laughed, just deciding to be amused by all this now. "You're from Camp Half Blood, I assume?"

Leo nodded. "Yeah, yeah. I've only been there since August though. Didn't really know about this whole demigod thing before that."

"Yeah, you can join the club on that one," Percy said, nodding. "I've only been informed for about three years now. Sounds like a long time except when you compare it to people like Luke and Annabeth and stuff."

Leo couldn't help but think about how uninformed Percy was gonna be in a few years.

"Yeah, I haven't gotten to talk to too many of the informed people yet. My two best friends are sort of in the same boat I am and we kinda got pushed into a quest without knowing anything," Leo said. "I have been talking to the Nico and Luke here though. Nice to have living proof that the whole thing doesn't make your brain explode."

"Quest?" Percy asked, curious despite himself. "Anything good this time around?"

Not that he thought Leo would tell him but he had to ask just to check. Maybe it was something mundane.

Leo lifted an eyebrow. "Are they supposed to be good? I thought they were always supposed to have a high chance of death and emotional trauma."

"Yeah no, you're right," Percy said, chuckling. "I more meant something good as in...you're not stuck fetching Ares' laundry or something silly like that. I'd say doing that would be really fricking dangerous."

"Ah, no, we're not doing that," Leo said, chuckling. "I don't think my dad would approve of me doing that, seeing as Ares is frequently banging his wife."

"Ew, don't remind me," he said and made a face. "I had to do a few things for Ares myself and it wasn't a good time. I always hope that someone's gonna knock his ego down a few notches even if that means it isn't me."

"I never met the guy so I can't do any ego knocking," Leo said. "I've only ever actually met my dad and Hera. Oh, and a few minor gods."

He didn't think he was giving much away with this. If he was he was sure Nico would come out of nowhere and kill him.

"I met Ares a few times and he was always a jackass. I met your dad a few times too," Percy shared, shrugging. "I even did a favor for him that almost got me killed but it was kind of worth it."

"Yeah? He's pretty..." Leo trailed off for a moment. "I mean, he's not pretty--I was gonna say he was pretty cool, but I don't know if that's the word for it. He's done some jackassy things."

"Yeah, but name me a god that hasn't done jackassy things?" Percy challenged. "I'll be shocked if you can. Shocked."

"Point. I haven't even been at this long and I know the gods are all on the jerky side," he said. "But there's worse things out there."

"Yeah, you're not wrong about that," Percy agreed, rubbing a hand over the back of his neck. "You gotten the honor of being surprise attacked yet out in public?"

"Uh, yes. Several times," Leo said. "The first being at the Grand Canyon. Storm spirits attacked and I fell off the cliff and had to be saved by this fat old satyr who is annoying as hell."

Percy couldn't help it, he started laughing mostly because Leo just made that sound like the worst thing in the world.

"I got a attacked by a Fury on a school field trip," he shared, shaking his head. "No satyr but Chiron was there even if I didn't realize it was him."
