First Floor Lobby, Wednesday, Feb. 9
Quinn had an actual date to the dance. An actual date with Puck.
As far as she was concerned, that automatically made it a good day. (If one she wasn't going to tell Santana about, because she wasn't completely crazy.) She settled in behind the table to sell dance tickets and flowers in a fairly chipper mood.
She was just keeping a wary eye on the little flying dudes circling the lobby. They had a certain gleam in their eyes.

Buy Tickets/Flowers [2/09]
Re: Buy Tickets/Flowers [2/09]
He ambled over to Quinn's station, surveying the very same sign that had been up on Monday when this was his job. "At least you don't have a hundred flower petals scattered all over the floor," he remarked dryly.
Re: Buy Tickets/Flowers [2/09]
Re: Buy Tickets/Flowers [2/09]
"Made any sales so far?"
Because he had. Just saying.
Re: Buy Tickets/Flowers [2/09]
The competitive side came out. "Why, did you?"
Re: Buy Tickets/Flowers [2/09]
Nice, he was not.
"I did indeed," he replied, just a little bit smugly. "Though I'll probably buy some from you, actually, which should even it out."
See, Quinn? No need to be competitive.

Re: Buy Tickets/Flowers [2/09]
"Now, I know it's not a traditional color for Valentine's Day flowers and such, but I was wondering if there was any way of getting, ah, green roses?"
Weird, Wes. Just weird.
"It's just that I know she's particularly fond of green, so..."
Re: Buy Tickets/Flowers [2/09]
She scratched her neck, thinking about it. "Maybe get one red in with the green? Or is that too Christmas-y?"
Re: Buy Tickets/Flowers [2/09]
"Hmm." Thoughtful face! "Well, she is from another universe," he reasoned. "She might not pick up on the er, Christmasiness of it."
Totally a word.
Re: Buy Tickets/Flowers [2/09]
"And if she does, you can say you wanted to be all festive, right?" she reasoned. "I mean, it's weird, but ... thoughtfull weird."
Re: Buy Tickets/Flowers [2/09]
"All right, then," he said decisively. "Eleven of the green, one of the red."
Big spender, this guy.
"Oh -- how did things work out with Puck?"
Re: Buy Tickets/Flowers [2/09]
She wouldn't peek. Well, probably. Well ... she wouldn't admit it.
"Puck? Oh, he asked me." The attempted nonchalance couldn't hide how pleased Quinn was by this development.
Re: Buy Tickets/Flowers [2/09]
And unfortunatey for Quinn, she wouldn't have too much to peek at, seeing as all he wrote was:
--Wesley
before sliding it back across the table. He was just creative like that.
Re: Buy Tickets/Flowers [2/09]
Re: Buy Tickets/Flowers [2/09]
"Is that, er, bad?" he asked, looking over the card as if it held the secrets of the universe. He was so, so bad at this. "What would you suggest I write?"
Re: Buy Tickets/Flowers [2/09]
Re: Buy Tickets/Flowers [2/09]
Imagine that.
He reached back across the table and took the card, crossing off what was already written there and then giving it some thought. For about a minute. Or two.
Then he looked up again, helpless. "Well, what would a girl want to hear?"
Re: Buy Tickets/Flowers [2/09]
Oh well. She could fix it. (And if she couldn't, well, that was Katniss's fault for being weird.)
"That she's pretty?" she tried. "That you really like her. That you think she's smart and interesting. And some kind of inside joke so she knows you're paying attention to her and not just saying nice things to get lucky."
Re: Buy Tickets/Flowers [2/09]
All those things were smart. And the sort of things he should've been able to come up with on his own, but hush.
He nodded thoughtfully as Quinn spoke, then managed to write something a little better. And then, because he had no boundaries and really wanted it to be good, he slid it back across the table for Quinn's approval. God, he was a dork.
Katniss,
You're pretty and smart and interesting, and you've a better hand with a bow than people I know who were literally born to it. Plus, you were able to digest those cookies Karla baked the other day, so you're clearly a superhero. I'm quite enjoying getting to know you, and I know you like green, so. Happy Valentine's Day.
Wesley
He was a dork who got it right once in a while, anyway.
Re: Buy Tickets/Flowers [2/09]
"Wesley," she decided when she was done, "this is ... not actually bad. Congratulations, she'll probably like it."
Re: Buy Tickets/Flowers [2/09]
"Thank you," he said brightly, very near beaming. "And, ah, for your assistance, also. Thank you."
[[about to head to bed, but that about wraps this up anyway, so. night!]]
Talk to Quinn [2/09]
Well. Unless she gets hit by an arrow.
Re: Talk to Quinn [2/09]
"Doing your civic duty?" he asked, hands in the pockets of his jacket. "Just need some hands to shake and babies to kiss now, dontcha?"
Re: Talk to Quinn [2/09]
Well, no.
"Are you going to the dance?"
Re: Talk to Quinn [2/09]
"That's what it looks like," he said, wandering over closer to her table. "Someone asked me and who am I to deny a request to be closer to me? That'd be denying someone a shot at a national treasure and I am too kind for that."
Re: Talk to Quinn [2/09]
Re: Talk to Quinn [2/09]
Still, he'd probably try and tease her or act like a stubborn ass and tell her everything but that she looks good. "And even if I weren't going, I would not be sitting at home, crying. I'd be out elsewhere, having my jollies licked and having my opinion of the holiday changed, I'm sure."
Re: Talk to Quinn [2/09]
She raised her eyebrows at the rest of what he had to say. "... please tell me 'having my jollies licked' doesn't mean what it sounds like it means."
Re: Talk to Quinn [2/09]
He made a show of dusting off his hands before tucking them back into his pockets. "I'm sure it has a multitude of meanings. The first thing you think of after it's said is a true measure of just how kinky of a person you are. Congrats, Quinn!"
That wasn't true. He also didn't care.

Still grinning, he asked, "I kinda went a little batshit too. Seems like it was going around or something. My roommate got some tongue action and all I got was acting like a fucking codependent."
Re: Talk to Quinn [2/09]
Unlike, say, the cupids that she kept giving the evil eye to.
"So some girl made you crazy?"
Re: Talk to Quinn [2/09]
Feeling feelings ew ew ew.
"I would have preferred some tongue action but that was not in the cards for me that night. I ended up getting wasted and dicking around on a playground with Caroline. It was an excellent way to get the bad taste out of my mouth."
Re: Talk to Quinn [2/09]
Which ... would remove the bad taste, but not quite the way Nathan meant.
Re: Talk to Quinn [2/09]
And he ended up taking his roommate out. Hmm.

Re: Talk to Quinn [2/09]
She eyed him speculatively. "Should I ask you to work out with me to make you feel better?"
Re: Talk to Quinn [2/09]
But hey, to each his own. Nathan shrugged. "Now, I would not be adverse to asking me to do something else, though. That's just the kind of guy I am."
Re: Talk to Quinn [2/09]
Re: Talk to Quinn [2/09]
"Yeah, like next week?" Nathan asked, nodding. "Should be enough time to get past the dance and the overwhelming...pinkness of Valentine's Day."
