First Floor Lobby, Bake Sale, All Day Thursday.

The student council weren't the only ones set up in the lobby today. Kappa Delta Gremlin had a table of their own, selling various baked goods made by the members of the sorority.

There were various and sundry cookies, muffins, brownies, anything ~~moddable~~ that a hungry student could want. Or a hungry love monkey, which Emma had to keep chasing away from the food. Fandom.

Since Emma didn't really have any commitments today, she was spending most of her time tending the table, one of her trashy mysteries at-hand to read when there was no one else around.

After her morning workout/training session, Kate was spending most of her time here as well. She'd brought some excellent chocolate muffins to be sold, after all, and wanted to be around to sell them like they should be sold.

Or something. Wasn't like she had anything else to do. When it was quiet, she worked on some of her independent coursework, and threatened any love monkeys that got too close to her or her goods.

Somehow, French homework didn't quite manage to keep Kate interested forever, so it really was just a matter of time until Kate was leaning towards Emma to peer at her book.

"What are you reading?"

"What'd you make me, Kate?" Puck asked, wandering up with his hands in his pockets. "You should know, your fellow sorority girls have been giving these things away to me, for free, because of my devastating good looks."

Or because he'd whined at Quinn.

Sookie popped by in the early afternoon with a pan of lemon bars and a few batches of oatmeal-raisin cookies. If some of that was borne of fear that lesser cooks would endanger the actual earning-money part, well, she trusted Emma to ensure that wouldn't happen but she wanted to be sure to contribute all the same.

"You're nice to look at, Puck, but I'm not devastated," Kate replied with an amused smirk and a shake of her head. "You'll have to pay, just like everyone else." She gestured at the table and the muffins in front of her. "Regardless, I made chocolate muffins, and they're awesome."

Puck sighed exaggeratedly, digging his wallet out. "Fine. Fine. I'll eat one of your muffins, and please note how I didn't even turn that into anything dirty, just for you. I'm paying and keeping it gentlemanly. Are you going to this thing tomorrow?"

"Uh huh," Kate replied, nodding. "Nathan's taking me." There was a pause, and a thoughtful tilt of her head. "Or technically I guess I'm taking him. But yeah, I'm going."

"You asked him?" Puck asked, waggling his brows. "Should I give him some of my awesome advice?"

Emma passed her book over without protest. "Things that go bump in the night," she said cheerfully. "I'm ashamed to admit that I'm horribly addicted to mystery stories."

<<Don't fret, darling, anything made by Karla will only be bought by those aware of what they're getting in to,>> Emma promised silently. Peeking? It wasn't peeking, it was knowing her audience.

<<...unless I don't like them.>>

<< You know, if I had more patience, I'd give her lessons or something, >> Sookie replied, mildly abashed. << But she always thinks she's helping, and I can't shoot that down. >>

"No." Sorry, Puck. At least she still looked somewhat amused? "We're just going, like, platonically. To mock romance and stuff."

And Nathan probably wouldn't have needed any advice anyway, but she kept that to herself.

"Hmh." Kate looked the book over and skimmed the text on the back cover before handing it back to Emma. "Well, at least it's not Dusk or something."

Puck made a sad face. "Then why even go with a date, if you're not like, make it a date? That's why I usually go stag, so I can pick up lonely girls. This time's an exception," which he was unreasonably excited about, shush, "but hey, my past results don't lie."

Emma just laughed and shook her head as she cleared a spot up front for Sookie's goodies. <<I don't have that problem,>> she said smugly. <<You could always say she'd be a bigger help if she could do this instead, or something like that.>>

"So what did you bring us today?" she asked aloud, looking over the treats. "Am I going to end up buying myself lunch?"

Kate snorted. "Some of us have friends, you know? And I wouldn't wanna go with a date date right now, anyway." Getting dumped twice in two months may have had something to do with that. "But who'd you manage to convince into going with you?"

She was teasing, of course, with the implication that people needed to be convinced into going with him. She had eyes, come on.

Emma made a face. "If you want romances, talk to Sookie," she replied. "I like solving crimes, not longing sighs of love."

Ariel was there, bouncing happily and proudly over the fact that she'd actually made cookies that were edible.

They were still incredibly burnt and tasted mostly like...well, burnt sugar, but they were still technically edible! She was only mostly buying things from the other girls to support them, obviously...Ahem.

"Hey, I'm taking the rudest guy in school to the Valentine's dance," Kate pointed out with a wry smile. "I'm not exactly looking for romance in any way, shape or form right now, either."

"Quinn," he said proudly, because that's right, he had convinced a classy girl to go with him. So ha. He frowned a little, though, and added, "I'm pretty sure it's not just a friend thing, though. 'Cause, I mean, we are friends, but I'm like, getting her flowers and shit."

Sometime in the afternoon between work and Glee Club, Ellie stopped by to drop off the red velvet cupcake she had made last evening. She was pretty decent at baking, so they were very edible.
