Third Floor Common Room, Saturday Evening
Wesley felt a little silly, entertaining his bratty child in the common room with board games that she seemed irrationally talented at. Honestly, what nine-year-old could beat a trained and experienced Watcher at Scrabble? He was positive that she was making the words up, but every time he consulted a dictionary, all he saw was Eloise's smug little face smirking at -- sure enough -- the word in question printed right there on the page.
Smug brat.

Wesley was having trouble keeping up with this, but -- what? Vampire? Friend? Cordelia? What?

"Then you kick them in the ham and eggs." Duh.

"I suppose I could," Eloise conceded. "Gunn's awfully tall, though. And intimidating."

"But you just sniffle a little and then break his arm when he gets close."

Finally, she nodded approvingly. "I like your style," she proclaimed.

But that was enough about Wes' friends.
"Do your parents slay monsters?" she inquired.

Because Daventry was filled with random monsters that could only be killed by the bizarre combination of items picked up along the way of their adventures.

"What kind of monsters?" she pressed. "My daddy can kill Ethros demons, you know."

"Yes?" she tried.
