Third Floor Common Room, Saturday Evening

Wesley felt a little silly, entertaining his bratty child in the common room with board games that she seemed irrationally talented at. Honestly, what nine-year-old could beat a trained and experienced Watcher at Scrabble? He was positive that she was making the words up, but every time he consulted a dictionary, all he saw was Eloise's smug little face smirking at -- sure enough -- the word in question printed right there on the page.

Smug brat.

"I showed you and then you got some blue cake and we were blue twins," he told her proudly.

Kennedy held up a hand for a high five. "Because we're both awesome like that?" she suggested.

Never mind that it wasn't a badass sort of thing to do. It sounded like fun.

"'Course!" he said happily. "Mama and Aunt Emma didn't wanna be blue twins though, but Daddy did it too! And Aunt Karla!"

...someone didn't understand what 'twins' meant, no.

"Of course they did," and Kennedy, despite being unexpectedly saddled with actual twins this weekend, wasn't going to correct him on that point. "You got a really, really big birthday party. Right?"

"Yeah 'cause five is old so it was 'portant so everyone came," he said happily. "There was a castle to bounce around in!"

Meanwhile, back in Gotham City, Stephanie Brown had the random thought that she approved of bouncy castles, and no idea why.

"A fifth birthday without bouncy castles isn't right. So good on your mom and dad for having that covered," Kennedy decided.
