First Floor Rec Room / Kappa Delta Gremlin Sorority Meeting / Tuesday Afternoon
"Yesterday's class on sexual education and contraception was incomplete and ridiculous," Emma stated once everyone had arrived. "So. We are going to discuss this properly, and have some 'girl talk' while we are at it."
"As Emma said," Quinn noted, "there's a lot more to talk about than making water balloons. Personally, I think abstinence is the best path for most people in high school. It takes self-control and creativity" -- said in a tone that almost doubted the existence of either of those things in her peers -- "but you can't get pregnant or catch a disease that way. If you aren't sure, your best choice is to wait. If waiting is hard? Pray. Or leave the room. Or start talking about something totally unrelated to sex until you're both too distracted to keep going."
She could have gone on for a while, and once upon a time she would have, but somehow actually having had sex made talking about not having sex that much harder.
"Not that Quinn would know anything about getting too distracted," Emma offered brightly. The telepath knows, Quinn, SHE KNOWS. "For those of you not in the school-approved class, there are a number of contraceptives in this time and place meant to prevent sexually transmitted diseases and pregnancy. The options range from medication to a number of devices, some of which I havehandwavily procured handouts or samples for."
New York. Emma's powers. She wasn't saying how she'd talked the people at Planned Parenthood into giving her an overly-large selection of condoms, lube, and handouts on birth control and family planning, but it wasn't hard to guess.
If Quinn was pink and looking everywhere but at Emma, it was down to the heat in the room and nothing more. Really.
"And if you have a question," she added, with deliberate brightness, "You can write it down and drop it in this bowl and we'll do our best to get an answer for you before the end of the meeting."
[OOC: OCD up! Finally! Dear LJ, comments are for replying, not for nomming.]

She certainly hoped everyone realized that she was only a part of this sorority ironically.

It was a possibly a sign of suicidal tendencies that he had a digital camcorder with him.
He didn't even say anything, just walked in and started filming.
[ooc: And I will respond to any shooings or thrown items after I get back from class. I blame twitter for encouraging me. And now with 100% more in the right thread!]

Which then meant a significant pause, followed by, "Can I borrow one of your shirts? And you can totally borrow my skinny jeans."

GirlTalk
Re: GirlTalk
And then moving quickly on in the futile hope that Emma wouldn't notice the switch back to present tense, she added, "My people use a contraceptive brew, back home. A cup a day will keep you from conceiving. It works whether it's just you or your boyfriend drinking it, but it's better if you both do, of course. It's one hundred percent effective so long as you remember every day, but if you're both drinking it, it minimizes the chance of you both forgetting one morning." Calling in her supplies, she tossed a few into the pile. "I'll be happy to make as many as needed," she added.
Re: GirlTalk
"Which actually brings up a good point," Emma said briskly. "Should you decided to engage in sexual activity - and again, you do not have to if you do not want to or do not feel ready - do not think you can mix & match. While you could chose to use a condom and birth control, you cannot decide to drink Karla's tea one day and take a pill the next day. It doesn't work like that and your body may hate you."
"And always, always, consult with a doctor before changing methods. You need to be safe and healthy, and that includes informed decisions."

Re: GirlTalk
"Livebearing so so mainstream," she bemoaned. "I think we should all go back to egglaying. I've actually been thinking of looking into mouthbrooding..."
Re: GirlTalk
"Are you high?"
Look, Ariel was speaking gibberish and dressed like a homeless person - and Emma knew what homeless people looked like, thank you - which were clear signs that she'd either gotten a bad bag or been hit upside the head a wee-bit too hard for being too perky.

She had nothing to add, really. Not due to any moral objections, simply because she didn't have any experience in the matter.

She'd actually be grateful for questions that would give her something to do.
Talk to Miss Porter
Re: Talk to Miss Porter
Jane had to admit, she was quite glad that girls of this century could be far more outspoken about things such as...er...romance...and the like, but that didn't make it any less of a shock for her that they could be so frank and blunt! And she knew herself to be quite liberal in that sort of thing, compared to some of the other young ladies she knew. So it was with a bright blush on her face and a desperate desire for a fan that Jane took to her advisorly tasks today...and she hoped it wasn't too obvious that she was paying particular attention. She had, after all, at least a few more years until she knew she'd have to dedicate herself entirely to spinsterhood!
