The Roof, Saturday evening

Bruce was trying to figure out what was worse: the fact that he spent part of the day being evil, or the fact that he was apparently bad at it. Not that he WANTED to be good at being evil, but if he was going to be evil, he couldn't have been better at it? All he did while being mind-controlled was stand there and speak about how evil he was. He didn't even throw a punch. Again, not that he WANTED to punch anyone who was trying to do some good, but it felt like AIM really wasted his talents. And after that, he didn't even get to threaten anyone about the mind-control!

It was possible that Bruce didn't think about things like normal people would.

Bruce was thinking about all of this at the edge of the roof. That was probably the bright spot of all of this. The fact that he FINALLY had the roof to himself for standing around and being stoic. Sometimes it was the little things.

Ben's thoughts had been running along similar lines--well, about going to the roof to be stoic, not about wishing he'd been more adept about being evil--and so he wasn't entirely surprised to see someone from their little adventure had already beaten him up there.

Sadly, he actually had to pause and think about it. "No," he finally decided. "I think I'll pass on a repeat experience, too."

"No, I skipped it. I already know what I'm doing for a career," Bruce said. "Unless they had a booth on inheriting a large company, I'm not sure there was anything for me there."

"That too. But I think that's even more appropriate when you have a hungry monkey going after you," Bruce mused. "There are some places you really don't want to find a monkey."

Ben shuddered. "Point taken. Animals have a habit of trying to eat my family as it is. That part first would just be...bad."
