Fourth Floor Common Room | Afternoon | Sunday | March 6
Between serving his detention yesterday and ending up at some career fair, Nathan thought he could count this weekend as academically productive. And, as the law said (there had to be a law about it somewhere), if you were productive one day, the next was meant to be fucking lazier than usual.
Nathan hadn't been up for more than a half hour and it probably showed in the sleepy amble into the common room, the bleary eyes and the bare feet sticking out from under the cuffs of his jeans. Food was at the very top of his priority list and upon pulling out a box of Lucky Charms (really, was there nothing else in there?), he'd wandered back to the couch and flopped down on it.
One hand stuck inside the box of Lucky Charms (seriously, SERIOUSLY) and one hand on the remote control, Nathan started flipping channels, trying to land on something halfway decent. He stopped on one of those religious shows where some televangelist was trying to get him to repent. All Nathan could think about was the fact that he really wanted this guy to trip and fall down the stairs of his big stage. That'd definitely make religion more interesting to him.
[Common rooms are open things, of course]

And he wasn't stupid or warped enough to turn her down. The telly could explode for all he cared.
"You had an alternative method of entertainment in mind, yeah?"

If she was going to be like that, he was just going to reach down and trace her lips with one of his fingers. Now that she'd said something, seducing her was all he was thinking about.
"I wasn't sure when you'd be back," he explained, still touching her lips with a finger. "I had to bide my time."

"You really don't have to try and convince me," Nathan assured her, smiling. "I'm totally on board with this idea of taking advantage of the complete lack of parental supervision and our mutual lack of shame. I haven't done any sort of screaming in awhile either. I think I miss it."

He shrugged and smiled adorably.

"How should I be putting it?" Clearly, his straightforward bluntness wasn't what she wanted. "I thought I was being direct."

Nathan leaned back, clasping his hands behind his head and sighing. "And no, I am not direct all the time but the situation seemed to call for it since your intentions were pretty clear and I wouldn't want to be too slow for you."

"I think it had something to do with how to pass the time on a lazy Sunday," Nathan replied, rubbing his chin before settling it around her waist. "And I made a suggestion but ti wasn't readily accepted and then you started talking about another bloke and I got maaaaaaaaaadly jealous."

He wasn't hurt at all and was really just playing this up to see if she'd keep kissing him. Affection like this was nice. He was man enough to admit that.

"How devastating for my broken heart," Nathan sighed, clutching a hand to his metaphorically broken heart. An actual physical broken heart would be causing a lot more pain. "I suppose I'll find a way to carry on."
He paused before hastily add, "But that doesn't mean you should stop what you're doing. You should keep going in fact."

"Of course I like what you're doing," he said easily, nodding. "And yet, you stopped anyway when I requested oh so politely for you to keep going. Your motivations are unclear to me, Caroline. I like what you're doing so you stopped. That's like taking candy from a baby."
