Third Floor Common Room; Sunday Evening [ 03/27 ].

Alexander wasn't doing anything particularly interesting tonight; he had just decided that he should at least do nothing particularly interesting in the common room rather than his own room, in the hopes that, perhaps, it could become something interesting.

He considered the television, but, overall, just settled on the couch with a book instead. Far more engaging and, perhaps, when he was ready for a break, he might hit up the kitchette for a little bit of culinary action. For some strange reason, it was making him crave a fried sandwich to dip in some sort of fruit jam...

How strange.

"Well, there is a movie," Elphaba said, her tone and expression showing how unhighly she thought of that. "Where there is an evil witch. Who is green."

She let that speak for itself.

"But not in Oz," Elphaba said. "There's nobody green but me. Though this witch is apparently from the west, which isn't Munchkinland but the land of the Vinkus, but I don't believe there's anyone green there, either."

She shrugged. "But so far the book does no mention green at any point."

"So I get to have an evil witch as a descendant?" Elphaba said, thinking that over. "Well, if that's the case, the Wizard must live a very long time. He's still alive in these stories. But... I guess that is part of why everyone knows he is so wonderful."

She'd not gotten that far in the movie or book, yet, to know otherwise.

"Either is very possible," Elphaba said. "After all, it's not like any of the other names are familiar. Only the places."

She sighed. "I've probably just been letting it get to me for no reason at all."

"But you said... it's common for there to be evil green witches, back in your home?"

That... explained a few things, honestly.

"Well, good," Elphaba said. "I'd hate for green to only be evil in your world." She frowned, but only for a moment. "It seems a common sentiment between many worlds, then. At least... those that are not the ones where Medusalith and Blackagar hail from."

"You're very right," Elphaba said. "Judging one on what you expect them to be as opposed to what they are... that's just not right at all."

"It's, well, I don't know," Elphaba said. "It's more about this girl from this world arriving in Oz, so it's more focused on her and her... shoe thievery."

"She arrives in a strange land and the first thing she does is steal the shoes off a dead witch that her hours landed on," Elphaba said. "It seems rude, if you ask me."

"It still seems... wrong," Elphaba said. "I'm not entirely certain why, but that's how it feels to me."
