The Roof, Friday night
"I'm not late!" Sam announced as she hurried in from the party, still clutching a handful of chips and a tropical beverage (not booze, she was good and avoided that). "It's the time zones! The island's doing it!"
Or . . . something.
She skidded to a stop in the middle of the roof, stuffed the rest of the chips in her mouth and started to chug her juice before looking at Freddie. "Is it set up? Is it working? Do we have Carly?"
She might be just a tad hyper. She hadn't liked missing doing the show last week. The internet missed her!

randomspanish and iCarly's live broadcast, but it's the roof. Anyone interrupting may be hushed/drafted into the show, though.]

He set down the camera. "Just get in position over there and we'll be starting in just a minute. I guess we'll just have to wing this."
He turned the spare monitor on his cart-o-technical equipment so that Sam would be able to see Carly's end (and the typically iCarly set) in Seattle.

"It's not my fault they had a beach party tonight!" Sam thought this was a perfect excuse. At least she wasn't ranting about her mother?

If he had, they'd probably end up delaying setting up the dual-location for a week, but Sam wasn't really good at thinking things through like that.

"Look, we're live in two minutes, so we can talk about this after the show," he said. "And Carly, if anything weird happens on this end, it is honestly not our fault."
He picked up his camera after that oddly ominous statement.

"That reminds me," Sam said, grabbing her remote and shaking her limbs out. "I should totally see about catching one of those gremlin things for the show."

"Wait, no time. Everybody in position. We're live in five, four, three, two..."
And, of course, he did not say the 'one'.

"I'm Carly!" said Carly.
"And I'm Sam," said Sam.
"And welcome to iCarly! That's right, we're doing the dual location thing again."
"I went and got myself deported," said Sam.
"Transferred," corrected Carly.
"But don't worry," said Sam. "This time it'll totally work. Because if it doesn't, I'll ditch Freddie in the middle of the desert."
no subject
"It's working. Though I'm pretty sure she's serious about the desert thing!"
Of course, as it was on the show, he had a goofy smile on his face as he said it.

"Wait, what desert?" That wasn't in Carly's script. "I thought you guys were in Maryland?"
"Well, that's where we landed," Sam said. "Then we drove to Iceland."
no subject
"It's pretty impressive, if I do say so myself. And they don't even make you walk funny."

"What kind of school is this?" Carly asked.
"One with the best field trips, ever. You get to see the world, and you don't even have to worry about stuff you left in your dorm room." Sam grinned. "Get this: the school assigned everyone 'big siblings', and mine swears he's an alien."

She made a face.
"We here at iCarly do not condone any sort of breaking the law. Just to be clear."

That was partly what Gibby was for, after all.

"So it sounds like you guys are settling in okay," Carly said. "In . . . Egypt."
"Definitely," Sam said. "But you know, I kind of miss those vikings. They knew what life was all about."

Which the show did just that, after Freddie pressed the right buttons on his laptop.

Hey, she'd done some prep work for this.
"And now, we present to you our latest Pathetic Play: The Detective Who Solved Mysteries, and the Idiot Farm Girl Who Didn't Have Any Mysteries For the Detective to Solve."
