Second Floor Common Room [Evening]

Ramona had flung herself onto a couch in the common room, in the interest of actually being social. Now, granted, while she had the television tuned to reruns of Rescued by the Alarm -- because who didn't love reliving the early nineties? Such large phones! -- she did have her nose buried in a book as she kept half an ear on the TV.

Look, the last Barry Plodder movie was coming out in a matter of like, a week, and while she wasn't a super-fan or anything, she had to try and remember exactly what happened when those kids weren't just walking around in the woods all the time. That was all they seemed to do for like, half that book. So she was refreshing herself on the events that took place in the latter half of the book, because she didn't want to be caught off-guard again like she had when she saw the last movie and that cute goblin thing had bit it.

"How can you not enjoy things like those phones?" she asked. "Look at his cell phone, Bruce. It's a brick. It's the best. I love it. I want one."

Ramona...would never be able to deny her hipster-ness.

"I don't see why that's so strange. I still have a rotary phone in my car," Bruce said. Because Animated Gotham City was weird. "So a blocky cell phone isn't that outdated."

"...you have a rotary phone in your car?" Ramona asked, frowning a little. "Doesn't that get distracting while trying to drive and dial?"

"I have a butler who drives," Bruce said. He was free to make all the calls he wanted while Alfred drove. "Anyway, I'd still call it less distracting than texting."

"Sure," Ramona agreed, "but driving is more fun than dialing a phone. I'd switch with your butler if I were you."

"And give up the chance to spin a piece of plastic around in a circle?" Bruce asked. "That's crazy talk."

"You just described a steering wheel," Ramona pointed out.

"The steering wheel is wrapped in leather. That changes things considerably," Bruce said.

"Yes. It makes it more fun," Ramona agreed.

"True," Bruce said. "But if I wanted that kind of fun, I'd go with one of the other cars. No phones and no room for a butler."

"Room for a guest of the non-butler variety?" she asked, raising a brow.

"Of course," Bruce said. "And I do have one of those cars in the parking lot if you ever hear of someone who wants to go for a ride."

"Mmm. The important question is how you feel about letting other people drive your car," she said, tapping her chin.

"You have insurance, right?" Bruce asked. He was probably teasing.

"I'm sure I can find some insurance papers."

Not technically what he'd asked.

"In that case, promise to watch out for cops and don't crash into anything, and I'm sure something could be arranged," Bruce said.

Ramona actually clapped her hands together a little. "I'm good at not crashing," she assured him. "Like, the best at that."

"That makes me feel better already," Bruce said. "Just let me know when you could use a road trip and I'll make it happen."
