Fifth Floor Common Room, Friday evening

Squall was bored, so he was flipping through channels on the television. He could have been doing that on the expensive television in his room, sure, but...

No, he wasn't out here wanting to meet and talk to the new kids. Shut up.

At any rate, he'd happened across "The World's Strangest UFO Stories", and was just... confused. The narrator was insisting that aliens were invading some place called Scotland, and it somehow involved the Holy Grail not being in a place called Rosslyn.

(These people are all complete idiots. They're just asserting things without any evidence.)

He got some chips and settled in to watch.


(Open common room is open! Please come bother the Squall, because I suck and he hasn't been out and about in ages.)

Rinoa was on her way up to the fifth floor looking for either people to hang out with in the common room, or her Knight. She didn't expect to find her Knight in the common room, although that made her decision easier.

Why was Squall in the common room!?! Was he actually lonely? Awwwwwww, that was kind of cute.

He was getting a hug for it in a minute. First ... first, she'd failed at sneaking up on one Knight already today, so she was going to try her luck at a second. She made her footsteps as quiet as she could, slowly coming up behind the couch, and when she stopped directly behind him, she reached out to see if she could clap her hands over his eyes.

Squall grabbed her arm, stood, and turned, ready to throw her across the room with a snarl... and his eyes widened in shock, and he sort of stumbled a bit. "Oh!"

Clearly, his response was entirely her fault. "What did you do that for?"

"Hey!" Rinoa gasped, wrenching her arm back with a huff. "What was that for!??!"

She thought this would be cute. She did not expect her boyfriend to straight-up attack her.

"I thought you were a new kid!" Squall answered. As if THAT would somehow make it okay. "It's not a good idea to sneak up on people!"

Oh, look! This conversation just made a left turn down Crazy Lane!

"You've been attacking new kids!??!"

In the cemetery nearby, the dead were clawing their ears off.

"That's terrible and you should be ashamed of yourself!"

"I haven't, but I would if they tried to sneak up on me!!!" Squall wasn't sure what Rinoa was yelling about. "I wouldn't hurt anyone!!!"

"You hurt me!" Rinoa announced, brandishing her arm that he had -- um. Grabbed while standing up, in a completely harmless way, so he could deflect her in case she was an attacker. "And you're going around just sitting in common rooms so you can wait for new kids to come in so you can attack them! How is that nice!??! I was trying to be cute!"

"I am waiting for new kids to come talk to me!!!" Squall countered. "You're the one who attacked!!!"

Did Rinoa look properly wounded? Because she was trying to.

"I was going to put my hands over your eyes and be cute," she said.

And not try to see if she could manage to sneak up on her second SeeD of the day. At all. Honest.
