Sam had handwavily spent all day yesterday video chatting with Carly online, trying to prove that, yes, she was totally actually a blue pony with a sandwich on her butt.

Carly insisted that Freddie's special effects skills must have improved and that Sam was just trying to prank her. Which, to be fair, Sam totally would be, if she weren't actually a blue pony with a sandwich on her butt.

Today, Sam was in the common room, dragging a ham out of the fridge with her teeth and flinging it onto the coffee table where she could munch on it while watching TV. She wasn't about to let a little thing like "ponies are herbivorous" stop her from enjoying her ham, dammit.

Sam had missed out on changing into a pony and he was really damn glad about that. He'd stuck to his room yesterday for the most part, sleeping a lot and listening to vinyl.

Now though, he was out and standing in the door of the common room, staring at the pony in there and torn between laughing and offering to help the pony with whatever she was doing.

"Uh." He snickered and tried to hide it. "Things okay in here?"

Sam was glad he didn't do drugs or he'd have thought he was on some kind of trip here.

"I'm fine," Sam insisted. She was a bit too proud to admit to needing any help in eating a ham. "What good are teeth if they can't tear meat?!"

"You sure you don't want me to get you some grass?" Sam asked, unable to stop himself from bringing up that stereotype. "I thought that's what ponies grazed on."

Sam made a disgusted face. As a pony, this meant a lot of eye squinching and tongue hanging out. "Ugh. Grass. No thanks."

She wasn't a big vegetable fan. Unless they were on a large sandwich.

"So, uh, who are you?" Sam wondered, taking a few steps into the common room. "You're not wearing a nametag and I don't really recognize person to pony transformations at all."

Sam peered at him over the edge of her ham as she tried once again to rip a piece off with her teeth. She sighed, straightened up, and tossed her mane.

"Sam," she said. Which was either stating who she as, or just saying his name. "How come you didn't end up a pony?"

Upon seeing someone who was still very much human-shaped, Wesley stared.

"Well, you're not a horse," he objected. Really, Wes? "That hardly seems fair."

"Sorry?" Was that something you apologized for. "Gotta admit, I kinda don't ever wanna be a horse either. It'd be wrong to suggest pony rides, wouldn't it?"

Yes, he was just kidding but he couldn't help himself.

"Oh, no, no, I didn't mean to say that you should be a horse," Wesley hastened to clarify. "Though I hardly wanted to be one either. Odd, the way the island selects its targets, isn't it?"

"This is actually pretty new to me," Sam confessed with a one shouldered shrug. "I've seen a gremlin bite in action and now this but that's about it. Guess I've got a lot to learn? Enjoying being a pony, uh, guy?"

There was a soft knock on the door, then the clomp-clomp of hooves as a very confused pony stepped inside.

"Er, excuse me? Is anyone else -- "

Then he got a look at Sam.

" -- currently equestrian? Never mind, I suppose."

"Dude, listen to the radio," Sam told him. "We're ponies, not equestrians."

Right. The radio. That would've been smart.

"No, no, 'equestrian' means 'of or related to horses and their riders,'" Wesley explained. Which was important, oh yes. "Er. I'm, er, I'm terribly sorry; I didn't mean to look, but, ah. Is that a sandwich?"

Sam looked back at her own ass flank. "Looks like. Better than balloons."

"I don't have one, do I?" He turned to try to get a glimpse, but being the Tiniest Pony Of Them All, he couldn't quite get the right angle.

Alex arrived in the common room a pony on a mission. He was going to figure out how to play Halo with hooves or else.

...or else what, he hadn't worked out yet, but he was so bored. He needed his Xbox fix!

Sam nodded at the other pony. "'Sup?"

"Hey," Alex said, resolutely trying to drag the Xbox out of the cabinet with his hooves. No? Maybe his mouth?

After trying to get a grip on the case with his pony teeth for a moment, he looked up and asked Sam, "Is that ham?"

"Yeah. Stupid pony teeth don't wanna bite it properly."

"...okay, have you ever heard of a guy named Diomedes?" Alex asked, thinking of backing away sloooooowly.

Asuna wandered around the dorms still trying to get used to the fact that she was back here. Then stopped, went back and found herself gaping at the blue horse in the common room.

"Um."

Sam looked up at the person peering in.

"Yeah, a bunch of us turned into colorful ponies. It's a thing."

"Of course." Asuna said then shook her head, then grinned. "A Fandom thing."

Asuna frowned and thought, "I think I'd be lying if I said this would never happen in Mahora. My other school is kinda weird too."
