Fifth Floor Common Room, Saturday afternoon

Well, it seemed the television didn't hate Bruce nearly as much as it normally did today. He would have liked to have watched that one prison movie, or even some soccer. Instead, it gave him the Yule Log, which was at least appropriate given the temperature. And that was better than one of the movie channels airing a marathon of the sparkling vampire movies.

Considering the show and the weather, Bruce felt it was only appropriate to spend a little time making some hot cocoa (with, yes, plenty for everyone). He didn't need a butler to do it or anything.

"Who's Shelby Marx?" Bruce asked. Honestly, he'd never heard of Hannah Montana either, but at least he had 'pop star' as an explanation there.

"Oh, the champion women's MMA fighter?" Freddie said. "I guess she must only be in my universe."

He made a little face. "It is so weird having to say that."

"Either that, or you just found someone who doesn't pay much attention to MMA," Bruce said. He preferred finding people who taught the styles used in MMA than watching the fights, of course. "But I think I can see how toast might not fly with her." The fighters he'd been around were at best a toast-neutral bunch.

Except for Ted Grant for some reason.

Freddie still laughed, though. "Good one," he said. "That was one of our more unique adventures with the show. We had a whole fake fight organized for charity and everything. But that's a whole big story in itself."

"You got a professional fighter for a fake fight?" Bruce asked. "It couldn't work with a real one?"

"Well, it had started out as this sort of blown-out-of-proportion internet feud," Freddie said. "The problem is, my friend Carly isn't a fighter, at all. She's kind of a marshmallow. A cute, adorable one. So if the fight was supposed to be real, she'd have... well, it ended up sort of real, but it wasn't supposed to!"
