Third Floor Common Room, Tuesday Afternoon
In the common room today, Topher was on the couch with a pint of ice cream. However, recovering from a breakup he was not -- instead, the ice cream was pressed to his eye, which had really freaking hurt ever since that freak had punched him the other day. For nourishment, he had a heap of food on the table beside him.
Well, "nourishing" was a little strong. Also, it was not his. Some of it even had people's names on it.
Topher's logic was that it tasted the same whether it was his or not, so who cared?
He had snacks, he had something cold for his eye, he had a comfortable couch, and the TV was on. Of course, it appeared to be playing children's cartoons, but that didn't stop him from snorting with laughter every few minutes whenever the sponge and the starfish tried to break into the squid's house.
What? It was a funny show!

Which led to him lifting up the container to reveal the state of his eye.
no subject
"So, who did that?" he asked, tapping his own eye. "If it was a girl, mate, I commiserate. Had it happen myself."
no subject
"Not sure I got his name," he said, cocking his head in thought. "Kate's boyfriend. Blond guy. Strong... fist."
And as for the getting-punched-by-girls matter...
"Who punched you? Was it Ramona or Kate? Because they can get violent." He spoke from experience.
no subject
"I have been punched by..." He stopped to think about it which was really sad. "Karla. Jacob. Caroline. Ramona. And Kate. Ha, beat that!"
Yes, he was proud of that.
no subject
"Dude. Impressive!" Topher held up a hand for a high-five. It was rare that he had moments of guy-bonding, but getting punched by people was one of those things that he could relate to.
"So far it's just Kate, Ramona and Kate's boyfriend for me. I should step up my game..."
Big words for a little geek with a low pain tolerance.
no subject
Sorry about that Topher but hey, at least he kept it clean? That was all for you, buddy. All for you.
no subject
The cleanliness was appreciated. He'd had enough inappropriate girl visuals when he'd stumbled upon a naked girl on the fourth floor yesterday.
"Oh! And Kate bit me that one time," he remembered. "So there, that's another grievance."
She was a MENACE.

Well, Kate had a sweet tooth...

Well, more like getting distracted in the common room.
"I love this show!" she said, plopping down on a couch. "And ooh hey, food."
She was also bypassing that whole "belonging to other people" thing.
no subject
"And this is sorta the best show ever." True, it was no Discovery Channel, but it still had sea creatures! It was educational!
no subject
Because it was only polite to thank someone who shared something with you, and she could be polite on occasion.
"It is," Elle agreed. "Well, one of the best, anyway. We don't have it in my time, I don't think." She wasn't sure what was on TV over ten years in the past anymore.

His deductive skills were amazing, weren't they?
no subject
She hadn't gone home since her arrival at Fandom; she could be forgiven for not being entirely certain.
no subject
He could go on about this for weeks, Elle. Better to cut him off before it was too late.
no subject
Her logic, it made no sense to most people.
no subject
"I know what you mean," he said with a grin. "And that one time we went, like, way in the future and it was Japan and there were all the cyborgs? It was so much effort not to just play with aaaaaaaaaall of them."
Futuristic things! He geeked out about them!

"What happened to you?"
She didn't normally come across people with a pint of ice cream against their faces.
no subject
And he left it at that. He could be a man of few words sometimes.
no subject
Hey, most people probably wouldn't have thought to use it like that. "What've you got there?" She asked, gesturing to the tv. She didn't recognize the show.
no subject
"LoofahBob RectangleTrousers," Topher answered. "You've never seen it?"
THE HORROR.

It almost sounded like the plot of a real movie. With, you know, sea creatures.
