Third Floor Common Room: Friday Morning

Jack really was loving his schedule this semester. Why? Because he had a four day weekend.

So after finishing up at the radio station, he swung by J'GOB's and the Perk before settling down in the common room. Apparently fate was in Jack's corner today because instead of evil TV Programming, the TV was letting him watch a whatever the meta is for Three Stooges marathon.

Coffee. Doughnuts. Three Stooges.

Yep. This weekend was looking up.

Nathan didn't have any classes on Friday either and typically, he'd be spending a day off sleeping off a bender. But, he hadn't had anything to drink last night so he was up bright and early this morning.

He only had to go one floor down and he found sweets and some bloke watching some dumbasses beat each other up on the telly.

"Sweet, I love these bastards," he said when he realized who was on the telly. "My mum used to say I've got hair like Larry. I think she was full of shit."

"Yeeeaaaah," Jack said looking at Nathan's hair. "Have you looked in a mirror recently?"

"Hey now, my hair's beautiful!" Nathan argued, shaking his head. "Besides, Larry has the fucking bald spot. Do you see any scalp poking out of his lush head of hair up here?"

"Well, no. Not yet," Jack admitted. "Maybe your family has a history of hair loss."

"We don't." That was one thing his dad had been good for. The Young hair genes were fucking fierce. He didn't have to worry about losing his hair.

"Could you imagine what I'd look like without my hair?" he asked, mussing the curls with a few fingers and wincing. "God, I'd look like an enlarged zi with a sunburn."

"Well actually you'd probably look a lot like Curly then," Jack mused. "You know the shaved head look is very in this year."

Peter, still unaware of what the rest of his day would hold, was bored.

So eventually he ambled into the common room and pulled a face at the TV, but not before sitting down. "Damn, that's old."

"Hey, hey, hey," Nathan said, waving a finger in Peter's direction. "It's fucking classic. Better than half the shit that people put out there these days. Classic is different than old."

"Oh, it's old," Peter said, rolling his eyes. "This is, what, two centuries? Age doesn't make a classic."

Not that he really took the time to watch a lot of vids anyway.

"The fact that it's still around and still making people laugh qualifies it as a classic," Nathan argued, smirking at that eyeroll. Wasn't the first time someone had done that to him. Not by a longshot.

"People beating the shit out of each other is timeless. Ageless." Nathan finally found a spot to flop down in and stretched his legs out. "Besides, whoever came up with this is fucking rich now, mate. Bet you wish you'd gotten there first."

"Being rich doesn't improve everything," Peter retorted, draping himself across the couch. "Though it helps. Besides, throw a tennis ball in someone's face and they're laughing, too."

"Well, yeah," Jack said with a chuckle at Larry smacking Moe. "That's part of its charm."

Peter snorted, though he did look at least a bit amused. "Charm, smarm, whatever," he said, eyeing the TV. "But I guess it'll do. Hey."

"Let's just be thankful that the television is letting us watch something completely reasonable," Jack pointed out. "I'm pretty sure it has some sort of creepy artificial intelligence that punishes us with bad programming whenever it feels like it."

"Really?" Peter asked, sounding genuinely confused. His eyebrows came up. "I've never noticed that."

Possibly because he spent most of his time in the middle of news from his home world.

Rosella had a bit of a gap between her classes today, and her excitement for her later one was too great to keep her from being a little on the bouncy side. She was hoping to explore more rooms on her floor before she heard the noise coming from the common room and waltzed that way instead.

"And what is this?" she asked, tilting her head at the television.

"I thought you already knew what a television was," Jack said with a teasing tone. "Don't tell me you forgot already."

"Ohhhhhhhh," Rosella narrowed her eyes visciously at Jack, but there was a smirk on her face. "If I only had something to throw at you right now. I've a wonderful aim for jackasses. But I meant, of course, what is the show currently on the television. That I do not know as well."

"That would be Larry, Moe and Curly," Jack said pointing at the appropriate characters in turn. "Better known as the Three Stooges. Possibly our greatest cinematic masterpiece of all time."

Or at least in Jack's mind.

"Three Stooges," Rosella repeated in a musing tone, tilting her head as she watched a moment. She tried to keep a critical, consulting expression on her face, but she was quick to realize that her stern egg was rather easy to crack. It started as a smile, then a giggle, and finally an outright laugh.

"But they're so silly!" she declared. "Like court jesters. The poor fellows!"

Sam wandered in, looking for something to eat. She rolled her eyes when she saw Jack. "Oh. It's you."

She was so charming!

"Oh look," Jack replied with equal charm. "Badger girl."

Be nice to Jack, Sam. He has donuts.

You seem to be under the assumption that Sam would ask to have any of Jack's donuts. Please. She was just going to try to take one.

"Man, that was a great week," she said. "No classes, no cares. . . ."

"The wholesale slaughter of other people's clothing," Jack added. "Please. Help yourself to the donuts."

"Thanks," Sam said, her mouth full of donut-y goodness. "And it's not my fault you wear ugly clothes."
