Dorm Lobby | Wednesday During and After Classes

There was excitement in the air. Okay, maybe that was just the mixture of Caroline's perfume and fresh baked cookies or just the scent of fresh permanent marker emanating from the sign adorning her table in the lobby.

Her purpose was the same as the words on the poster that had been glitter-fied at the KDG meeting:

Sign up to perform in the Student Council Parent Weekend Recital!
When: SATURDAY EVENING
Where: The COMMUNITY CENTER

With a great big smile, Caroline was ready to do her Student Council duty and chat up anyone who looked in need of some persuasion to participate. Um, not that she was going to be using her special, vampiric talents to fill the sign up list. That would be bad, even if it would mean a seriously amazing show.

Hmm. Maybe she should just stick with the cookie bribe.

Did Jake understand that when he tickled her, he started something that generally involved her shrieking in his ear and smacking his hands as she tried to move far, far away? She doubted it, even as she did just that.

No, it started something where she tried to press flush against him so he was frowning when his plan failed. His hands moved to her back, pulling her back towards him. "You're doing it wrong."

"But you know my M.O.! I had to change it up," Caroline told him, letting him tug her closer. "Unless you were only tickling me to get me closer..."

"Now she's getting it," he sighed.

Caroline laughed, leaning in to press a quick kiss to his cheek. "You're cute, even if I think that is so not the way to get me to snuggle up to you."

"But you do this cute belly thing," he objected, sighing even more as he was missing out on it.

"What cute belly thing?" Caroline asked. She possibly knew what he meant, but thought his description could be fun to hear.

"Where you try to press your stomach against mine so I can't reach it," he grinned, letting her figure out which part other part of her he appreciated when she pressed against him like that.

"It does when I get distracted," he argued.

She leaned in closer to push her belly against his. "And this is distracting now?"

He laughed and ran his fingers up her sides. "Mmmm, how long do we need to stay here?"

"Staying here is more of a me condition rather than a we," she said, looking up at him. "And I have to be here until I get as many sign ups as possible."
