Kappa Delta Gremlin, 1st Floor Rec Room, Tuesday

Rilla was finding it impossible to stop staring at Quinn's hair today. It was so very pink. "So, yes, hello..." she finally stammered, shaking her head, "I hope everyone had a lovely time with their visitors this weekend..."

And she was back to staring at Quinn's hair.

"... or if things didn't go so good, or you didn't get visitors," Quinn said, picking up the thread with just the slightest what's-with-you glance to Rilla, "that you found a way to deal with it. For example" -- she touched her fingertips to her hair, now -- "never underestimate the therapeutic power of a makeover or haircut."

"Is that what you did?" Rilla gaped. "Ohhhh! But yes, playing with makeup is lots of fun, assuming you don't get completely tarted up."

Someone was from 1914, can you tell?

"We brought lots of supplies--" mostly not Rilla's, since her makeup tended toward talcum powder that smelled pretty, "--and thought today we could just make ourselves pretty!"

"Yes, that's what I did," Quinn said, managing not to roll her eyes. "Though if anyone isn't up for pink hair today, you can just try a different kind of Chapstick or something."

Lucrezia was fascinated by Quinn's hair. It was such a lovely shade of pink.

Elphaba was just going to stare, and be off to the side. Good luck trying to get her to do any of this.

Unlike her roommate, Angelica was totally diving in to the makeup to try different colors. She'd never really had the opportunity to play around with things like that before.

Hanna understood makeup and hair care products. She didn't mind experimenting with it, and she'd gladly help anyone else who wanted a makeover.

Makeovers? How freakin' excited was Petra? She was going to take this opportunity to test out some of the stuff she didn't have. Oooh teal eyeliner.

Her expertise with this stuff was probably pretty apparent, and she'd be happy to help anyone who wanted advice or opinions.

Lucrezia had selected a warm shade of coral for her lips, and was debating its merits versus a lighter fare.

"I don't believe I realized there were this many pinks in existence," she admitted.

Petra, at least, seemed at home here.

"There are way more pinks than this," Petra confided. "This is just the tip of the iceberg. Sephora would blow your mind." She considered Lucrezia for a moment, then suggested, "Okay, do me a favor, never let anyone put you in black eyeliner or mascara, you're so fair, it would be disastrous."

"Would someone have tried?" Lucrezia laughed. "I'm not so fond of black. I know that too much cream makes me fade out entirely."

Her wedding dress was gorgeous, but she had disappeared into it.

That had not really been the worst part about her wedding, so it was a minor detail at best.

"They might," Petra said. "If they didn't know what they were doing. Black is sort of the standard. But you should totally wear brown. I think that lipstick would look good on you, though." She rubbed a purple eyeshadow on the back of her hand and offered it for Lucrezia's consideration. "What do you think? Too cool for me?"

"I don't believe I have any brown dresses," Lucrezia mused. "Tan, perhaps, and a few deep red that could be mistaken for it in the wrong light."

She was now trying her own lipstick and examining the results in the mirror, though she stopped to inspect what Petra was doing.

"Oh, that's lovely," she said. "It makes the skin on your hand seem rosier. Does one try make-up on the hand first, to test?"

"I meant mascara, but I think the rule holds for black clothes. Actually no one should wear all black. Except Goths. And, yeah, that way you can see what it looks like against your skin without actually putting it on your face," Petra explained. "It's more sanitary. And you don't get the trauma of seeing yourself with bad makeup on."

"Cesare wears a great deal of black," Lucrezia said, loyally, "but I believe it suits him. His coloring is very dark, both skin and hair. But we're Spaniards, not Goths."

She was now trying other lipsticks, and making streaks along her hand, comparing.

"That one's nearly orange," she laughed. "I would look like I had a tangerine for a mouth."

"There was an orange lipstick trend for a while there," Petra said, deciding not to explain about Goths. "I didn't understand it. That one could be nice, though," she suggested, pointing to one of the other lipsticks. "Who's Cesare?"

Mercy had never had any luck with make-up. Mostly she just ended up looking stupid, and it's not like she'd ever had any female friends to help her with it.

She just sort of stared at all of the stuff and wondered if this was really what girls did in a sorority and if she could get kicked out for being hopeless at it.

Brilliant red lips were usually the mark of courtesans, and not the higher-class ones, either. And yet, Lucrezia was too intrigued not to try her hand at dabbling.

Rilla was there with her normal hair, thank you, and feeling quite daring for wanting to go play with the blush.

Not that she would ever admit it, but Morrigan was fascinated by young Quinn's hair. She had dyed her own once or twice, true, with the dyes she could create, but nothing ever quite that vibrant.
