Kappa Delta Gremlin, Tuesday After Classes, 6th Floor

The sorority met in the sixth-floor kitchen today, per handwavy email. Quinn had a wee baby gorilla balanced on her hip -- the better to keep him out of the baking supplies -- as she started to talk.

"This weekend is homecoming," she started. "And I hope you've all taken a minute to vote for your sisters for homecoming princesses and queen. But homecoming also means there are going to be a lot of extra alumni wandering around. There's no better time to take advantage of their generous spirits and raise charity donations with a bake sale?"

"And no one can resist a cookie," Rilla added with a smile. She gestured at the counters. "I think we have enough supplies to make whatever you want to try to bake, and we also found the cutest little cupcake papers and sprinkles and something called edible glitter, so we can make everything really pretty!"

And that would be something the non-bakers could do to help!

Whatever you want to make! And this is where we're all grateful Karla didn't join.

Rilla was making chocolate chip cookies (from a big ol' container of pre-done cookie batter) and adding blue and yellow sprinkles to them to make them more festive.

Hanna was attempting to make cupcakes. Attempting was the key word there. Baking wasn't exactly her area of expertise. Maybe she could hide that by making them look pretty?

Annie was much more used to baking cookies from the package, but she was feeling confident enough to try doing it from scratch. She was maybe a little involved in making sure she got the directions exactly right, too.

Sov was used to helping out in the kitchen, but didn't really know any recipes by heart, so they were improvising a little. ~~At least the result would be better than if Karla had made them~~.

Caroline was all about trying to figure out how to get that Canadian party theme to appear in the form of school spirit cookies. Blame it on too much time spent thinking about dance decorations and photography backgrounds.

Once they've pinged in!

Quinn wasn't baking. Gorilla hair struck her as unsanitary. She was off to the side, watching and wondering what she'd do if she had to take a baby ape to homecoming.

Fortunately, that wasn't going to be an issue. One minute, Puck was an adorable baby gorilla, chewing on his own foot. The next, he was an eighteen year-old guy...still kind of chewing on his foot.

He dropped it pretty quick, and since he happened to notice he was naked, he took a moment to look for a dishtowel to cover himself. Not for his own benefit, of course, but for the girls. Rilla was here. She probably didn't even know what naked dudes looked like.

"Hey."

"Hey," Quinn returned, once she'd snapped back to life and oh god her boyfriend was almost naked in the middle of sorority. "Nice timing."

"I thought so," he replied, smiling at her. "Planned it this way. I figured you'd want the opportunity to show off."

"You're probably going to make the freshmen spaz," Quinn said, and that dishtowel really didn't cover much of anything.

On the one hand, she wanted to admire him for a good long time. On the other, the naked in public around food thing was a little gross.

"...I missed you," she finally said. "But you need clothes. For now."

"So not for later?" he asked, wagging his brows as he leaned over to press a kiss to the top of her head. "I'll put some pants on, fine."

Quinn grinned at him innocently. "And I'll come find you in your room when this is over."

So ... no. Probably not later. And while he was there she was going to let her hands stray down his back and skim over the towel, just for the fun of it.

Puck arched a brow at her, smirking. "I'll be a gentleman and try not to like, give your girls the vapors or whatever. I'll be in my room."

And with that, he turned to wander out, and yeah, he was pretty sure there were people checking out the view as he left.

"Bye."

Now Quinn was going to spend the rest of the meeting preening because she had the hottest guy in the school waiting for her. Sometimes life was good.

Luckily Annie had not been going Awww baby gorilla again at the time. However, she did turn at a bad moment, and immediately threw a hand in front of her eyes because THERE WERE JUST SOME THINGS SHE DID NOT NEED TO SEE.

"Hi," Puck said, waving over at the girl who was totally not looking at him. Except how he was now preening in case she was.

"Hi," she said, looking at him through her fingers and only at his face. Always only at his face. And maybe his chest, but no further. "You were a cute gorilla, by the way."

"Thank you," Puck said, grinning at her. "I didn't mean to be."

"He lies," Quinn said, sing-song. She wasn't interrupting their conversation: She was more ... adding her own counterpoint. "He always knows how cute he is."

She did not sound like she had a problem with this.

"I bet. So, um, when are clothes happening?" She couldn't stay like this forever, you know.

"Soonish." The 'ish' was just to needle her. "Am I bothering you? You can look, you know. I'm not shy."

"No, that's okay. I'm perfectly fine not looking," she said, still looking at his face through her fingers.

"I mean, it just looks like you're sort of stuck with your hands like that," he noted. "Can't be comfortable."

"No, in fact, I like it this way. My arm's not even tired," she lied. "Is it soonish yet? Let's have some pants, shall we?"

Rilla was there and not gawking at the naked boy who used to be a gorilla.

Really.

Anybody want to post a bake sale table? There's a shiny nickle in it for you...
