1st floor rec room- Thursday afternoon till whenever people actually leave

After second period, Annie lugged all the supplies she had access to down to the rec room, figuring it wouldn't distract people in the lobby (especially while tickets were on sale) but people could wander over if they were interested. They might have to work around some stuff, being the rec room and all, but it was doable. It wouldn't hurt anyone to see homecoming decorations beforehand, right? She'd sent an email to the rest of Student Council to make sure they knew where she was and to bring anything they might have with them that might help out, and then got all the moddable supplies she had set up in an orderly fashion.

Then she found a spot on the floor to begin applying glitter to a moose.

That's right. You were going to get glitter moosen, and you were going to like it.

Quinn watched Annie work for a moment before she said anything. Glitter moose might not have been precisely the first thing she thought of when she thought of homecoming, but if they were going to have glitter moose, they were going to have the best glitter moose ever known to mankind.

"Hey," she said, as she claimed a moose and a space on the floor to work on. "Do we have maple leaves to use as stencils?"

"Stencils are in that bin right there," Annie said, pointing. "Finding Canadian stencils, by the way? Harder than you might think."

"At least there's maple leaves," Quinn said, holding one up and finding a vial of red glitter. "And ... I dunno. Hockey pucks? Mountie hats? Joni Mitchell lyrics?"

She would admit the last one was a reach.

"That's a moose."

"It is!" Annie said proudly, looking up at her. "Ooh, what's that?"

"Maple leaves," Rilla said proudly. "I packed them in my trunk from our trip to Newfoundland and dipped them in glitter!"

Petra set herself up in sight of the door so she could see if anyone went wandering by in the lobby and dash out to find out if they wanted to buy tickets, and got to work glittering a moose.

"Is it weird that I kind of want to keep one of the glitter moose?" she wondered. "I kind of love them."

"Not at all," Annie said with a smile. "That's one of the reasons there are several. We'll make sure you get one."

"Yay!" Petra said, clapping her hands and redistributing glitter in a little cloud. "Whoops. But, yes. Yay! We never had fun themes like this at my old school."

Toby's glitter-related experiences didn't go beyond, like, elementary school art projects. Still, it seemed like it could be fun.

So here he was, armed with a basket full of fake-moose-antler-adorned headbands.

"Think we could find a use for these?" he asked.

Annie frowned, and then her eyes widened in excitement. "Do you think the photographer would let us keep them there in case people want to wear them in their pictures?"

Toby grinned. "I was hoping I wasn't the only one who thought that might be cool," he admitted.

"Those are adorable!" Rilla squealed.

"They are pretty cute," Toby said, handing over a pair because... well. He'd totally tried them on the minute he saw them. He was gonna assume other people might have the same urge.

Petra had to agree with Rilla. "Oh, those are too cute!"

"I went in looking for Mountie hats," Toby admitted. "And I found these and, well. Wasn't gonna pass that up."

Caroline had been concerned about the theme yesterday. Today she was a little focused on the moose. "Oh my God, please tell me that's a plastic moose under the glitter."

Taxidermy was just so...ew.

"Of course," Annie said, frowning a little. "What'd you think?"

"Given the level of taste we're working with here, I thought I'd ask before deciding," Caroline replied. "At least the glitter...no I don't think anything could help that. What can I do that isn't animal-themed?"

Petra looked at her moose, then at Caroline. "I think mine is cardboard. Is that bad?"

"Well, now I can't say I don't know how much glitter it would take to cover a moose," Dave noted as he walked in and saw the preparations.

"If you want to get really specific on that question, we have another moose you can glitter," Annie offered.

A noticably banged-up Wesley came in late in the afternoon, armed with a few pairs of scissors and some construction paper.

Now that he was actually going to the dance, and on top of that was in a weirdly good mood despite this week's trauma? He was totally getting to work on making it awesome.

Even if his cutout of a maple leaf was terrible. No, seriously, it was really bad.

There'd pretty much been enough time between the elections and now so that Annie could take one look at Wesley and head over to ask, "Hey, you okay?"
