Second Floor Common Room, Monday Night

Kenzi was still fighting a cold, and randomly flipping channels in the common room. One of those dance shows had now come on, and there were were people dancing to music she thought might be from the Seventies. Hard to be sure. Nyquil was kind of making some of the details fuzzy.

Singing along might be happening.

[method RP, yes. Distraction would still be good.]

Stephanie needed to go out and patrol, but Fandom being distinctly not Gotham, it wasn't a huge hurry or anything, and she stopped in the common room on her way down when she heard the music from the TV.

"Oh, I hate these things."

"Because the judges are horrible," Stephanie grumbled, glaring at the TV. "Why do people tune in to watch them cut people down as viciously as possible on national television? People are awful enough in real life as it is."

Stephanie sighed. "Partly rhetorical, okay, even if I still don't get the appeal." She tried not to think about it much; she liked to think humanity was worth saving.

And now she was wondering if the judges really were metahuman. Thanks, Kenzi.

"Ohmygod, what is that on her legs?"

". . . that's an awful thought, you know." Poor Alots. "I totally don't get these shows. Or these fashion choices. And yet I can't look away, now."

LOOK WHAT YOU DID, KENZI.

"There is definitely that," Stephanie conceded. Hey, she had eyes. "Oooh, hello there."

Stephanie perched on the back of the couch and huffed a laugh.

"Making it look easy's how you know they're good," she agreed, if a bit grudgingly. "But then, that's what all the drama of the rehearsals is for, isn't it? The TV audience just loves that part."

"Please tell me you never actually tried that second to last part," Stephanie said quickly, though she was laughing. "You know what you're talking about though, huh?"

"Not too literally?" Stephanie had to ask these things, all right? "I mean, I've heard stories about it, but I never know how much is exaggerated and how much is real."

She hesitated before adding, "Especially with some of the worlds people come from around here."

Stephanie raised a hand and waved it, a sort of so-so gesture. "Mix and match. A little bit of both. Sure, there's a few special types, and then there's the rest of us."

Heh.

"It's an interesting mix. Nobody's supposed to know about magic in your world?"

"That's . . ." Huh. "Really cool, actually," Stephanie decided. "If weirdly harmless-sounding."
