4th Floor Common Room, Saturday afternoon

Saturday was a good kind of day to bake cookies! Especially when it was chilly outside. Because that only made the cookies extra-delicious!

That, at least, was Rapunzel's firm opinion.

And the kitchen in the common room made it super-easy to bake! There were so many supplies! Sometimes, actually, there were too many. After all, Rapunzel knew better than to take all of the delicious ingredients and try to make one crazy batch of Franken-cookies. But that didn't mean that there weren't way too many delicious-looking ingredients.

So Rapunzel had settled for the only reasonable solution: bake different kinds of cookies. So while the chocolate chip were on the wire cooling rack (and weren't those a neat invention?), Rapunzel slid a tray of oatmeal raisin out of the oven and replaced it with a tray of peanut-butter cookies. She glanced at the sugar cookies and estimated they needed another five minutes...

There were far too many for Rapunzel to actually eat by herself, but Fandom had a tendency of helping her out with that sort of thing.

See, now Warren had totally earned that cookie, because he'd found the spatula! Kind of.

"Thank you," he chirped, before happily grabbing it up. It was still pretty hot, so it wound up being passed back and forth from hand to hand for a minute, but that was absolutely not going to stop him from nibbling at it all the same. "It's very good!"

"Thank you some more!" The milk was a nice counterpoint to hold after the hot cookie, really. All cold and... milky. But the cookie was cooling down quickly anyhow, and even faster if he dunked it into the milk! "Those ones can be very good too, okay? But these ones are peanut butter."

Which clearly made them a paragon of cookiekind.

"So it goes those ones, and then these ones, and then all the other cookies!"

Oh, he probably could be. If he was trying.

"Awesome."

No, really.

"What's a refute?"

"Ooooooooooh." Warren took that moment to thoughtfully munch on his cookie. "But not a counter like the ones the cookies are on?"

He had to be sure, here. He had no idea what counters had to do with arguing, otherwise.

"And not like the counting counter either," Warren observed, still quite content to eat what was left of the cookie. "Words are so weird."

Get used to them, boyo.

"And things like how 'stop' is 'pots' spelled backwards," Warren observed. Because that had everything do to with this conversation, clearly. "And dad and pop are the same both ways."

He had a lot of time on his hands to contemplate these fine mysteries of the universe.

"Yeah! Like... Um..." He squinted for a moment. He'd come up with something. "... Pants?"

Pants!

"And jeans!"

Kind of.
wwiii: (Weetiny - Uhhhh)

[personal profile] wwiii 2011-11-19 06:42 am (UTC)(link)
"And... shorts?"

No, Warren.
wwiii: (Weetiny - Oh That's Okay Then)

[personal profile] wwiii 2011-11-19 06:50 am (UTC)(link)
"Tights!"

... Types of pants were not the same, Warren. And you were tempting fate.

"They're like pants, but tighter," Warren explained. "S'why superheroes wear 'em in comic books and on TV and stuff. Because you can't be a superhero with loose pants."

He wasn't certain why this might be the case, but it certainly seemed like a matter of being How Things Were Done, really.

"Lotsa reading." Warren nodded sagely, and then finished off his cookie. "And cartoons. Cartoons are good for learning!"

Ish.

"Well, maybe some of them are just for fun, but there are learning ones, too." Oh, this would be rich. "Like Adolescent Mutated Samurai Frogs! It's about frogs that are samurai in the sewers!"

Which, as we all know, is completely possible.

"Samurai!" A beat. "And frogs!"

Which were very specialized areas of study, true.

"And nachos."

The traditional meal of the samurai.
