Fifth Floor Common Room, Sunday evening

It had been a long day, at the end of a long weekend, at the end of a long week, and so on. So Bruce was pleased enough to take it easy for a night and head to the common room. But that was just a cover for something he really wanted to test.

When Bruce made his contributions to remembering everything back into existence, he cheated in one area and changed one small detail in the dorms. Bruce turned the television on and flipped channels freely.

He won.

That - and the overall return of Fandom, his home reality, his cave, and apparently all other realities - meant that he was even willing to compromise from his habit of watching true crime documentaries by watching a stupid-looking Christmas movie about a con. Why not? Twas the season, after all.

[OOC: TAKE THAT, TV! Ahem. The common room is open, naturally.]

"So did the universe bring the diet coke with it when it started existing again?" Quinn wondered, as she came up to poke through the fridge. "Hey, Bruce."

Casual. Like she wasn't glowing with happiness.

"Yeah, I'm glad to be here." Quinn gave him a dubious look. "Wait, you're going to have to explain that last sentence."

She knew she was back; she just wasn't clear on the mechanics yet.

Quinn considered this for a moment. "So somebody had to remember the mole on my knee," she realized. "I'm weirdly flattered."

"And" -- she added, holding a can up with a flourish -- "you did remember the diet coke."

"Like dominoes," Quinn said, thinking about it. "Neat. Bizarre, and I hope it ever happens again, but -- neat."

"Not counting psychic wounds," Quinn pointed out. "But those probably just make us more interesting."

"I'm fine," Quinn insisted. A bit too firmly. "Just, you know, not everyone is as" -- skilled at denial and repression -- "strong as I am."

She ran a hand through her hair. "It still wasn't worse than that other world with all the radiation," she decided.

"Yeah, and this time I didn't have to beat anything with a crowbar," Quinn added. "But I'm desperately hoping this is the last horrible thing before graduation."

"I wouldn't be surprised if we are," Quinn said, halfway serious. "We can't be this awesome without paying some kind of price."

"Quinn! Quinn. QUINN!" Kenzi was even delighted to see her. "Oh, you coming back to reality is wonderful!" Probably because it meant more quality teasing time.

Quinn gave her a suspicious look. "Okay, what's the punchline?"

[identity profile] regretiz4suckas.livejournal.com 2011-12-12 03:37 am (UTC)(link)
"Nothing! The universe is back where it should be! And I got to meet a giant flying puppy! And your hair is so shiny!"

Maybe it should be blue now, though.

No. No, it should not.

"It is," Quinn preened. "And -- even though I'm sure I'll regret saying this -- maybe I'm a little happy to see you, too."

She raised an eyebrow. "Tell me about the puppy?"

Awww. Just for that, whatever Kenzi eventually did, it was going to be reversible.

"It was huge! It's head was as tall as me! All white with pearls and scales and oh my god, I hope we get one of those someday," Kenzi said, delighted. "Also, there were aliens. And you missed the weirdest D&D game ever."

Oh, that was probably a good thing.

Quinn's eyes got huge. "Seriously, there were crazy people around zapping everybody, and you guys played Dungeons and Dragons?"

She considered. "Somehow that's less of a surprise than the dragon."
