Fifth Floor Common Room, Tuesday evening
After a very productive day in the cave yesterday (where he also shed any annoyances about his weekend travel), Bruce decided to take a night to readjust to a more social, friendly persona before people arrived over the weekend.
Pizza was ordered for anyone who might actually be in the dorms instead of somewhere in their home worlds, drinks were on the table, and there was some college football bowl game on (Bruce didn't care which teams were playing or who the sponsor was). Even if nobody was in the dorms tonight, at least it looked like he was making an effort, which was good enough for his purposes.
[OOC: Just in case there are people around!]

She didn't spin on her heel and walk out again when she saw Bruce, but her muttered greeting wasn't exactly bright and chirpy either.

"How was your break?" she asked, with as much casualness as she could manage. Just ignore the tension on her back or the way she was keeping him in her field of vision as she picked out a slice of pizza.

"Not bad so far," Bruce said. "My trip home got a little crazy, but that's Christmas for you." Of course, his trip home wasn't intended to get him to Gotham and then took him even farther away than he did intend, but that was becoming par for the course. "How about you?"

"Like usual I stayed here and trained." She'd even picked up an hour or two of sleep here and there.

"Sounds like a good use of time," Bruce said. It wasn't sarcastic or anything. He truly believed that. "Pick up anything new?"

He might have been sincere, but Cara was having trouble trusting in that right now, so she eyed him warily before replying. "Not really." Unless you counted bruised and scraped knuckles from hitting the bag too hard too many times.

"Fair enough," Bruce said. "Hopefully you at least got some good workouts in."

"As well can be expected without a suitable partner." If she made it sound like an innuendo well, it was that or actually admit she'd been lonely.

"Only if they're capable of keeping up with me."

Bruce had never known Cara to be this... 'aggressively affectionate' was going to have to do. Don't mind him if he shifted positions on the couch slightly to help him block an attack if one were coming.
Sue him for being suspicious.

"We're not in the gym, for one." For another she was angry and hurt enough (and okay, lonely) that any concerns about using him weren't really that much of a deterrent right now
Basically, Bruce was completely right to expect an attack, just wrong about what kind she was planning.

If she preferred the latter, Bruce kept a mental list of what rooms were open, and a few sets of lock picks hidden in his clothes at all times.

"Mine will do," she said as she moved to grab a fistful of his shirt and yank him towards her. Just in case there was any confusion about what she had planned (plus she was just kind of toppy like that).

Have some fun, too.

She was far more focused on returning the kiss, with interest, reaching to cup his face and to keep it where she wanted it.

If she was eyeing him like she was calculating just how much leverage she'd need to sling him over her shoulder and carry him there...the thought had crossed her mind.
