Fourth Floor Common Room, Thursday Evening, The Barry Gibb Talk Show

The fourth floor common room had been transformed. Do not ask how the best talk show hosts ever had found a disco ball to hang from the ceiling, one that showed off their matching white double-breasted pantsuits. They were here to sing about politics and chew bubble gum, and they were all out of gum.

There were chairs arranged in a semi-circle, for the important political guests, brothers Barry Gibb and Robin Gibb (also known as the surviving two thirds of the best effing band ever, the Bee Gees) faced away from the studio audience. As if on cue, Barry and Robin spun around, and began to sing.

So maybe George and Squall had been gremlin-bit earlier this evening and thought they were washed-up disco superstars now hosting a belligerent talk show about politics. That might be cool, too.

Seifer waved from where he was being a (very silent) camera man.

And making sure he had plenty to blackmail Squall with.

That part where 'Barry' said the jellyfish stung him and died was totally going to be Squall's new ringtone.

Rinoa slipped over to him, trying not to laugh hard enough that she'd mess up the audio.

"Gremlin," Seifer whispered, trying not to look like he was talking.

Rinoa was nodding, even though she was hovering slightly behind him, which meant he probably couldn't see it. Oops.

"Okay, that explains some of it," she said. "The singing and the, um, the complete ... insanity is kind of ..."

Gremlin bites were always weird. Maybe it seemed weirder to her because Squall was never, ever silly.

"Oh my gosh, did he glue a rug to his chest?" she asked, staring (and giggling, yet again) at the fur thicket popping out from the suit. "That's not his chest hair."

Which Seifer probably knew already. SeeDs showered together and all that, and if Squall were part woolly mammoth, he might have noticed.
