Second floor common room- Thursday night

Feeling particularly social today, Stacey had gone into the common room and made popcorn. She'd even made sure there was moddable popcorn seasoning available in case anyone else wanted some, and she could even put some on hers and not have to worry about it. Go Team Diabetes!

With snacks achieved, she found a seat and turned on the TV, and found that the channel was still on those same orange people from class. And when she went to change the channel... the batteries wouldn't work in the remote.

"...This is not funny," she decided, hitting the buttons on the remote again in case it decided to work this time.

"Yeah, that's..." Stacey paused and looked up from the remote to him. "Celebrities Underwater?"

"You know, the show where David Schwimmer almost drowned?" Freddie said. "I thought it would go away after that but I guess that was just really good for ratings. I heard Axl Rose is going to be on the new season."

"I have never heard of that," she said, a little concerned he was making this up. "But it has to be better than this?"

"I think so," Freddie said. "I've seen both, but I've only ever gone out of my way to watch Underwater. The best season was the one with Vanilla Ice. He's got surprising lung capacity."

He sat down and pressed the screen of his PearPad a few times. "I could try to pull up some clips on SplashFace if you want?"

"Are you making up words?" Stacey asked.

"No?" Freddie said, looking slightly confused. "Wait, are you from a time, like, pre-internet? Do I need to explain that first?"

He'd gotten a little more adjusted to that sort of thing in his time here at Fandom.

Only technically. Sort of.

"No, I have the Internet. I've just never heard of anything you're talking about," she said. "What's a SplashFace?"

To her it sort of sounded like a facial cleanser.

"It's a site that lets people put up videos," Freddie said. "Whether it's talent show auditions from their school or their cat doing something weird or just people talking to their webcam. It's pretty big where I come from. Almost as big as Zaplook."

Ah, Freddie's universe. A world without Apple, Google, or YouTube...

"Zaplook," she repeated. She was not convinced about the made up words yet. For some strange reason. "I guess we just don't have that where I come from?"

"Probably," Freddie admitted. He pointed at the back of his PearPad, at the prominent glowy pear logo. "Just a guess, they probably don't have the Pear Company, either?"

That still boggled Freddie's poor mind sometimes. Pear made the best stuff.

"Maybe it's very small?" she suggested helpfully.

"Possibly," Freddie said, but he figured it was just one of those weird universe differences. He set his PearPad down in his lap. "I'm Freddie, by the way. I don't actually live on this floor."

"Stacey. So what floor are you from?" she asked.

"The fourth," Freddie admitted. "The smell of popcorn kind of lured me in while I was going up the stairs. I'd been down in the rec room trying to figure out if we could build the right set for an iCarly sketch we've been working on."

"You can have some if you want," she offered. "There's toppings, too. Do I want to know what an iCarly is?"

"It's a webshow," Freddie said. "I'm the technical producer, we put on a show every week to just have fun, goof off, and entertain our viewers. We're actually pretty popular, at least in our world. We've topped a million viewers worldwide sometimes."

"On SplashFace?" she checked.

"Well, we started out there," Freddie said. "But then we decided to register our own domain and run our own server." And by 'we' he meant 'him'. He was the tech guy. The others... made fun of him for being the tech guy.

"So if you want, you can check us out at iCarly dot com sometime. And if you like what you see, you can drop in on a taping sometime."

"Sure, I could try that," she said. "I mean, it can't hurt, right?"

"Nope," Freddie said. "I mean, unless Sam decides she wants to fling gravy around or have you play a game like 'What Am I Sitting On'."

He said it oh so casually.

"I normally try to not have her scare off guests right away. And hey, one of our guests, Jack, he keeps coming back to be on the show, week after week. I think it's growing on him."

"Flinging gravy," she said, her chances of showing up getting just a little slimmer. "So, don't wear nice clothes, then."

"She only has done that twice," Freddie said, trying to do a little damage control. "I really recommend watching the show before showing up. We're a little weird and silly, but it's all good fun. And she really only tends to mess with guests she doesn't like."

Namely, Jack.

"I'll definitely be checking it out," she said immediately.

"Cool," Freddie said with a nod. "And wow, I have been talking about myself this whole time." He shook his head. "Sorry about that. I get a little excited when it comes to tech stuff and the show."
