Third Floor Common Room: Thursday evening.

Matt had "gone out" for the evening. For some that meant a night on the town. For Matt, it meant leaping from rooftop to rooftop in the warehouse district. Unfortunately when he got back to room he found it somewhat... busy

So Matt has been exiled to the common room for the evening listening to ESPN while he attempted to make himself a bowl of cereal.

Damn you, Rebecca.

Darcy had a notebook and a laptop and absolutely no motivation to do anything with them. "Wow, this is really becoming a thing." She commented as she came in and saw who else was there.

"What?" Matt joked as he carefully poured the milk into the bowl of cereal. "You mean bowls of cereal?"

"Absolutely. It's the thing to do this year." Darcy replied with utter seriousness and dumped her things on the couch before going on a quest for pop-tarts. "You gave me chlamydia!"

"And you got a cookie," Matt pointed out. "I think you were well rewarded for your STD."

Darcy pretended to consider this, with an exagerated hmmmmmm. "I think an STD is worth at least five cookies. I feel cheated. And that's something I hope isn't becoming a thing. I had chlamydia the week before! " She located the pop-tarts and began to munch on one right from the box.

"Well do you really expect me to pay you four more cookies for a disease you've had twice?"

Darcy considered this over half a pop-tart. "I expect cookies." She finally decided. "And to stay disease free outside of class activities."

"I think I have hand sanitizer," Matt joked. "That might serve you better than cookies."

Darcy pouted and realized that was useless. "I'm pouting at you." She informed him instead.

Claudia wandered by, spotted people in the common room looking like they were neither drunk cooking nor trapped watching bad TV, and decided to be social.

Really, this was practically a new record for her.

"Hey Matt. What's up?"

"Claudia!" Matt said with a smile and wave of his spoon. "Oh, just enjoying the wonders of cereal, milk, ESPN and being exiled from my room. And you?"

"None of the above," Claudia said cheerfully. "Rebecca's not getting revenge on you for the bed-make-outs thing, is she?"

Matt gave a shrug. "Maybe," he replied. "Either that our she had to release all that pent up aggression before she exploded. Can I interest you in a bowl of cereal? It's probably my best dish."

"Well, if it's a specialty." Claudia grinned, much more confident now that, though he couldn't see it, it'd come across in her voice. "I wonder who her lucky other person is."

"Couldn't care less," Matt said carefully pouring a bowl of Captain Crunch for Claudia. "Especially since I have such great company here. Now just a splash of milk and..."

He tried to do a dramatic splash of milk. Which ended up in the bowl. And on the table.

"Voila. Cereal ala Matt."

"Don't worry, I know where the paper towels are."

"Impressive. I'm not sure I do." Claudia picked up the bowl and dug in. "Would I be too much of a cliche if I admitted I have no idea what they're doing on the TV right now?"

"Not at all. It's mostly about the super bowl," Matt said as he started to clean up his spill. "I'm really just waiting to see if they cover any boxing. My dad's a boxer so I like keeping up on what's going on."

"Oh yeah? Does he wear those weird shorts?"

No, Claudia, not those shorts. Angelo Siciliano was a body builder, not a boxer.

Another person she vaguely recognized. Darcy was totally being social. "Pop-tart?"

"Sure." Breakfast foods seemed to be the theme of the evening. "Darcy, right?"

Breakfast foods were awesome! "Right! And... You were the girl I did the one word conversation with."

"Claudia," she offered. "That's me. Look at us, managing so many syllables."

"I'm impressed!" Darcy said. "I think that entire senatance was longer than our previous conversation."

"I do strive to always best myself. Settling in well?"

Darcy shrugged. "Ihave a never around roommate, I go to classes, I joined the school paper, and I'm talking to people. I think that hits all the settling in points?"
