First Floor Lobby, All Day Tuesday

It was Quinn's day to sell Valentine's Day dance tickets and flowers, and she was at the table in the lobby all day except for when she was in class. There was also a chance for students to sign up for blind dates through the frat.

Quinn started out passing the time by writing and rewriting the messages to go with her flowers, but once she was satisfied with those she pulled the latest edition of Cosmo out to read as she waited for anybody she could help.

She could use the distraction, and she'd be happy to provide advice. Really.

Once he pings in!

Frat representative Chuck was here to help people get dates.

... Yes, he found it a little weird to be here helping people get dates, when he was not great at doing it for himself.

But he was here, and helpful!

"So how'd you guys end up doing this?" Quinn asked, mildly curious.

(Also, they would be at the table together for a while. Conversation would pass the time.)

"I... guess we thought we should do something other than eat Cheetos and grunt at each other?" Chuck tried, "So, matchmaking!" The obvious choice, of course.

He honestly didn't know the details, but that sounded slightly better than the truth.

"Cheetos, grunting, playing yenta," Quinn nodded. "They all go together perfectly well."

She was teasing a little.

Chuck grinned, and spread his hands. "We are truly renaissance men."

"... And they offered free pizza, which might explain some of the uptake for this job." Chuck actually did it because the idea of romance and helping people appealed.

"It's always easier to get people to do something for food," Quinn said lightly. "Are you putting your name in, or did you get a date the old-fashioned way?"

"I uh--" No, he did not have a date, but that didn't mean he hadn't thought about getting one the old fashioned way. "I haven't decided yet?"

"Can I interest you in throwing your name in? It can just be a 'make a new friend' exercize, if you already have a date..." Which given, well Quinn, he was going out on a limb thinking she probably had her pick of dates.

"Thanks, but Puck normally takes me to things like this," Quinn said. (Or, at least, he did if he knew what was good for him.)

"You should step on it, though. Nobody wants to be the girl who gets asked on Friday."

"... Asking early is really that important?" Clearly, Chuck had very little experience with these things.

"Um, yeah," Quinn said, in much the same tone she'd use if Chuck asked if the earth was really round. "You like to be able to talk to the guy, figure out your outfit ... like, if I was going with you, hypothetically, I could wear higher heels than if I was going with Dave Nelson. Knowing early is critical."

Quinn had special priorities.

"Oh." Right. He'd never really considered that. "I will... bear that in mind." If he decided to get on and actually ask.

"The whole blind date thing, has this benefit of you not being as likely to get rejected. I mean, you know whoever you're paired with actually wants to go... Probably."

To be a wuss, or not to be a wuss.

"Good," Quinn nodded seriously. "And yeah, you're right. It's ... a lower risk of rejection. I can see why people would like it."

I have a meeting inna bit but I should be back around noonish!
