First floor lobby- Friday all day

Annie got to the lobby early to make sure everything was set up just right at the table, and then settled in to spend her day there. The lobby was a little warm today, and while the um. troll janitor was fixing the thermostat, she just hung her cardigan on the back of her chair and went about with flower/ticket selling. And the blind date signups, but that was all frat.

She was going to do her best to ignore any trolls. Or their jazz handsing.

[The teacup had never even heard of Fosse. I mean to fix that, yes.]

It was a fairly shy Dany who made her way over to the table that afternoon, though she was trying not to be. "Hello. This is where the flowers are sold, correct?"

She was intuitive, yes. And also warm, and also trying to keep her thoughts from wandering, today.

"This would be the place!" Annie said cheerfully. "Are you ready to support Student Council and show your friends your appreciation?"

Shhh, she'd been working on that all morning. It was her version of thinking about baseball.

"...more the second thing," Dany admitted, though she laughed a little. "Though that's quite a pitch. I'm still learning the customs of this holiday, though, so I'll hope you'll forgive my questions -- we're to send flowers to anyone?"

"Anyone on island," she nodded. "It's kind of outside StuCo's budget to go into outer space for flowers or something, but if you've got anyone you just want to say something nice to here, you can send it."

"Where I'm from, flowers tend to be something you'd send to women, for the most part," Dany offered carefully. "Is that not the case here? I should hate to insult anyone."

"Well, you get the occasional guy who's too macho, but it's 2012. Plus, anyone who'd get insulted about getting flowers proooobably doesn't have too many people wanting to send him flowers," Annie pointed out.

"That is an excellent point," Dany replied with a smile. "Then I think I shall need some order forms." She paused, and tilted her head slightly. "Your voice is familiar."

"Oh, well, I used to do radio," she said just a tad proudly as she presented her with the order forms. "Maybe that's it."

"Yes!" Dany exclaimed, realizing it immediately. "You're the girl who can't say my name! Annie, right?"

Such things made an impression.

"Yes," she said, a little slowly. "I can't say your name?"

Dane-er-is was totally the correct pronunciation, okay.

"I'm Dane-er-is," she said with a little laugh. "Except it's Daenerys. It's all right. No one says it right, usually."

"Oh!" Annie said, looking embarrassed, then thought about it. "I never would have gotten that, no."

"It's the Y's," Dany offered sympathetically. "No one here can. Most people call me Dany. But I rather liked your interpretation!"

Wesley was on his way back from his library shift when he passed Annie's table, thought better of it, and doubled back.

"Hello, Annie," he greeted her, making a beeline for the order forms. "How has your day been going?"

"Good," she said, smiling just a little too long before realizing she was doing it. "I mean, there's a troll fixing the heat, but otherwise..."

Annie, your smile was creepy. CREEPY.

"Right," he said, eyeing the troll who he had somehow never seen before. "Well, ah... have you had many customers?"

[[DAMN IT, LACK OF NOTIFS. SORRY.]]

Um, dolls and soup were creepy.

"A couple," she shrugged. "Including you, it looks like."

And Annie! And also cats.

"I thought I might send some," Wesley admitted, taking a few order forms. "They're, ah. Er. Girls... appreciate them, usually, yes?"

Oh, Wesley.

"Well, most girls do," she said, twirling her hair around a finger.

Wesley gave her a curious look at that, because he was stuffy and oblivious. Sorry about that, Annie.

He looked back down at the order form, got as far as writing Katniss' name, and then set it aside momentarily.

"Friends as well, do you suppose?" he asked, reaching for another one. He was going to waste so much paper. So sad.

"Go for it," she told him. "I think I sent to half the school."

"Good to know," he said, smiling as he returned to the forms. "So, ah... excited for the dance?"

"Oh, definitely. I got my dress yesterday. It's really cute." He doesn't care, Annie. "Are you going?"

Sorry, Annie. He wasn't great with dresses.

"I believe so," he said as he handed over a few completed order forms, though it was occuring to him that he might want to actually formalize that decision at some point. "My, er, girlfriend isn't always much for these events, but she usually likes to stop by for the food?"

Wes sure knew how to compliment a girl, didn't he?

Hello, whichever boy is scheduled today!

Billy had brought a book with him in case no one wanted to sign up for the blind date thing. For the moment, it was a good distraction from the jazz handsing troll, and from how warm it was.

"So how are the blind dates shaping up so far?" Annie asked with a smile.

"We've got quite a few people signed up. More than I expected, actually. I'm hoping everyone ends up with a good match," Billy said. "Are the tickets selling well?"

[WTF NOTIF.]

"I think we should have a pretty full dance," she said happily. "And hopefully no one has allergies once we deliver the flowers."

She'd sent roughly four thousand. That might be a slight exaggeration.

"It might be worth it to see all the flowers out. I know my room's going to have some," Billy said. "I didn't think I was going to like Valentine's Day so much this time around, but thinking about it platonically has helped."

Happy sex pollen week! (Does Hallmark make cards for that?)

Not expecting a ton of work today, so as long as people don't hog the copier today, I should be pretty around!
