Roof [Wednesday, Late Morning]
One thing that could definitely be said about the roof, was that it was nothing if not refreshing compared to spending time cooped up in her room. Kate had no classes today, and given how she felt this week, the common room didn’t feel like it was the right place to be spending her time either. What were the chances it would be busy up here, really?
She’d brought a book, in case boredom did set in, but it’d been set on the edge of the roof and abandoned there, when it failed to hold her attention. Sometimes, you just didn’t want to read, or sit, or anything sedentary at all.
Even with the cooling air, she was still feeling the urge to fidget and twitch. So pacing. Pacing and muttering off a list of all things really, really unattractive. The Impala worm, food from the Grease Trap, giant toads...

She didn't know whether to be annoyed or glad Kate was already up on the roof. She 'settled' for more sneezing.

She was so helpful.

"If I was going to ambush you I wouldn't do it from here."

"I thought everyone had their weak points," she continued instead. "I can't make food look appetising." Her pie had once been described as looking like it had dismembered bodies beneath the crust. It was an insult that stuck with her, apparently.

Then, because she could turn anything into an innuendo even when she didn't have an already healthy libido dialled up to eleven. "Trust me, I'm not worried about whether your food looks appetising."
no subject
Okay, it wasn't, but why ruin a perfectly fun back and forth by admitting that?

Only to hear a girl muttering about... did she say 'giant toads'?
"Someone else up here?" Matt asked tapping his cane on the ground as he navigated himself onto the roof.

"I'm not completely against company."

"I was starting to run out."
no subject
"Well if you want company I should probably introduce myself," he replied. "Matt Murdock from New York."
no subject
"Points for actually coming from somewhere I've heard of." A fair number of people around here didn't.
no subject
Which is the blind-guy-but-has-superpowers-way of checking her out.
"Oh, I'm scoring points now," Matt said cheerfully as he did a little stretch of his arms and back. "What would I have gotten if I was just some guy from the boondocks of Kansas?"
no subject
"Maybe I should lay out some kind of system."

See, now he had a chance to up his points without even trying.

"Some would say that's proof of something."

Because she was a smart-ass, that was why.

Kate disliked cities period, so it was never going to hit high with her.

She glanced across at him. "But it would still depend entirely what you were offering."

"How is that the first thing that comes to mind?" Of all the odd enthusiams to have.
no subject
There was no etchings.
"And if that doesn't meet your needs maybe you'll find something else you'd like to have."
no subject
"You make a compelling deal," she decided. "I'll bite."

"Let's see what you've got, then."
