2nd Floor Common Room, Monday Evening

The television was on in the common room. And there was a tiny god watching it.

That was not the strange part of what was happening, though. The strange part was what was on the television. It was a channel that proclaimed itself to be 'Logo' and the players upon the stage were men in dresses and made up as though they were women.

And yelling at each other quite a bit.

"Huh." He could only wonder if his brother knew of this.

Anna wandered into the common room--and stopped in the doorway, staring in confusion at the television.

After a moment she found her voice. "What on Earth?"

"I think, perhaps, the players of this troop had no women to act the parts," Loki said, head tilted curiously as the ladies on the screen applied make up. "They are quite good at the illusion."

A beat.

"Especially this Kenya Michaels."

Anna blinked a few times, then remembered, vaguely, something from her actual high school experience. Back in the fifties. "Oh," she said. "Like Shakespeare?" They didn't look very Shakespearean...

Bobby was wandering the common rooms in search of junk food, when he saw-

"Oh." Cue bitchface. "It's you."

Bruce had done a terrible job being a 'big sibling' so far this semester. So when he was heading back to his room after a quick run around town, heard the TV on the second floor, and saw who was in the common room, he decided to make a detour.

"Good evening, everyone," Bruce said. And then he took a quick look at the TV itself. "...What are you watching?"

It made perfect sense, Anna. Perfect sense.

"Not... precisely."

"And it is you as well," Loki replied, one eyebrow going up. His elder self had been... less forthcoming about the source of this grudge.

"It is called 'RuPaul's Drag Race'," Loki replied brightly. "They are quite upset with one another."

Which was a nice way of saying there were bitchfights going on.

"Huh, what?" Tara asked, with a little wave as she wandered in and started looking for tea. "... are you watching RuPaul?"

She ... shouldn't have been surprised.

As always, whenever he crossed the threshold into a common room, Butters Stotch paused for a moment and looked around. Far too often, it seemed that he was magically whisked away to a common room not of his intent, so his arms went up and he did a little dance when he recognized the location he wanted to get to.

"Whoo-hoo!" he sang. "Second floor!"

He dropped his arms and looked toward the television to see what was on.

His arms went up again. "Oh, boy! Drag queens!"

If only he'd remembered to bring his heels...

"You know who it is?" Oh god, Tara. Run while you still can.

"...they do not have any crowns," Loki replied. As it seemed to be the only thing he could come up with.

"Well, obviously," Anna agreed, drifting a little further into the room. "They don't look very Shakespearean." She hadn't seen anything like it, to be honest, but then, her experiences were very limited.

"Any punches thrown so far?" Bruce asked. "Or wig-pulling?"

Loki zeroed in on how to get Bruce interested pretty quickly.

"It's me?" Anna asked, confused. What had she done to you, Bobby? She didn't even know you!

"They're men dressed as women," Anna explained helpfully. "Like Shakespeare, only not like Shakespeare." She tilted her head thoughtfully and admitted, "I don't know why."

"Tara!" Anna said, happy to see her big sibling. "Do you know what it is? I'm confused."

"'Drag queens?'" Anna echoed. "What's that?"

"Kind of?" Tara ventured. "It's a TV show about ... men who dress up as women."

she found the tea, plunked bag in cup. "Most of them are, um, b-better at girly stuff than I am."

"I'm assuming partially for money, partially for fame, partially because they like it," Bruce said. "However those percentages work out depends on the person."

"We haven't met yet, have we?"

"I do," Tara said slowly. "It's a game show where men dress up like women."

She blinked at the screen. "Some of them are really good at it."

Cara needed to be out of her room, and not just because she was worried about turning back into a chipmunk.

"What's with all the men in dresses?" Of course, all those men were more comfortable in said dresses than Cara would be.

That explanation...didn't really help Anna. But then, she was missing about 99% of the context for this show. So she just sort of said, "Oh," and then moved right along to, "I don't think so. There seem to be a lot of people I haven't met, though; I don't get out much. I'm Anna Korlov."

"They are," Anna agreed. "So it's not like for a play in Shakespeare? It's a game?"

Loki looked from her to the television to give that serious thought. "Some. Others less so."
