2nd Floor Common Room, Monday Evening

The television was on in the common room. And there was a tiny god watching it.

That was not the strange part of what was happening, though. The strange part was what was on the television. It was a channel that proclaimed itself to be 'Logo' and the players upon the stage were men in dresses and made up as though they were women.

And yelling at each other quite a bit.

"Huh." He could only wonder if his brother knew of this.

[ooc: Open like a common room!]

"I'm assuming partially for money, partially for fame, partially because they like it," Bruce said. "However those percentages work out depends on the person."

"We haven't met yet, have we?"

That explanation...didn't really help Anna. But then, she was missing about 99% of the context for this show. So she just sort of said, "Oh," and then moved right along to, "I don't think so. There seem to be a lot of people I haven't met, though; I don't get out much. I'm Anna Korlov."

[identity profile] willbethenight.livejournal.com 2012-03-06 01:03 am (UTC)(link)
"Bruce Wayne. A pleasure to meet you," Bruce said. "It looks like you picked a good night to get out. Plenty of people, something... interesting on TV. Nice timing."
dressedinblood: (Anna fixes her hair)

[personal profile] dressedinblood 2012-03-06 01:09 am (UTC)(link)
"Well," she said, trying to make a joke of it and not quite getting there because there was some truth in it, "I can't sit in my room and stare at the walls all the time..."

[identity profile] willbethenight.livejournal.com 2012-03-06 01:18 am (UTC)(link)
"Maybe if you had extremely interesting walls..." Bruce suggested. "But barring that, I'd agree. If for no other reason, then to at least see what the walls out here look like."

Anna made a show of looking around at them, then told Bruce quite seriously, "They do seem to be very nice walls." Then she smiled, to show she was joking.

[identity profile] willbethenight.livejournal.com 2012-03-06 01:31 am (UTC)(link)
"That's the best thing about Fandom. Great wall design," Bruce said. "Well, and the people and classes or whatever. But that's all secondary."
dressedinblood: (Anna is determined)

[personal profile] dressedinblood 2012-03-06 01:34 am (UTC)(link)
"Yes, the walls are definitely the most important thing," Anna said soberly, nodding agreement. "They're just so wall-like."

[identity profile] willbethenight.livejournal.com 2012-03-06 01:41 am (UTC)(link)
"If we didn't have them, we'd be rooming in tents all over the school grounds," Bruce said. "And I'm not a big enough fan of camping to try that long-term."
dressedinblood: (Default)

[personal profile] dressedinblood 2012-03-06 01:42 am (UTC)(link)
"I've never been camping," Anna admitted. "I don't think I'd like it. So it's really for the best that the walls are here."

[identity profile] willbethenight.livejournal.com 2012-03-06 01:48 am (UTC)(link)
"It's something you really have to want to do," Bruce said. "I do actually kind of like camping, but if you asked me to choose without giving me a very good reason to pick the tent, I'll always choose to sleep indoors."

Of course, his 'very good reasons' to camp out were more likely to come up than a lot of people's.

[personal profile] dressedinblood 2012-03-06 01:51 am (UTC)(link)
"What would count as a good reason to pick the tent?" Anna asked. "Besides a tragic lack of walls."

[identity profile] willbethenight.livejournal.com 2012-03-06 02:02 am (UTC)(link)
"You feel like getting out into nature. Bonding with somebody who likes camping a lot. Car broke down in the middle of nowhere," Bruce said. "It's usually going to be along those lines for me."

The universe was eaten by Nothing and the library provided tents was a good one, too. But he wasn't going to mention that to a new girl.

Yes, no one had quite alerted Anna to that level of weird yet, so that was a wise call.

"But then what would you do without quality entertainment like this?" Anna asked, gesturing at the TV and barely keeping a straight face.

[identity profile] willbethenight.livejournal.com 2012-03-06 02:15 am (UTC)(link)
"Sit around a campfire and hope mosquitoes don't eat me alive, mostly," Bruce said. "And that just doesn't measure up to a drag queen competition."

Or he might find a bear and pick a fight. Yeah, probably that.

[personal profile] dressedinblood 2012-03-06 02:18 am (UTC)(link)
"Or there might be a...drag queen competition in the woods," Anna suggested. "It would be an interesting challenge. For the show. Wouldn't it?"

Especially if they had to fight a bear.

[identity profile] willbethenight.livejournal.com 2012-03-06 02:21 am (UTC)(link)
"I'd watch it," Bruce said. "In fact, if this show hasn't done that at some point, I think it's a missed opportunity."
dressedinblood: (Default)

[personal profile] dressedinblood 2012-03-06 02:23 am (UTC)(link)
"Those shoes would be very...interesting in the woods," Anna mused. "Whoever doesn't break an ankle wins?"

[identity profile] willbethenight.livejournal.com 2012-03-06 02:33 am (UTC)(link)
"I imagine that's what it would come down to," Bruce said. "That or whoever has enough sense to wear flats. Maybe even fashionable boots."
dressedinblood: (Default)

[personal profile] dressedinblood 2012-03-06 02:45 am (UTC)(link)
"I don't think flats would be in the spirit of the competition," Anna pointed out.

[identity profile] willbethenight.livejournal.com 2012-03-06 02:50 am (UTC)(link)
"Probably not. But you sacrifice some fabulousness and survive better," Bruce said.

"Although wearing heels is probably written into the contracts they had to sign to keep that from happening."
dressedinblood: (Default)

[personal profile] dressedinblood 2012-03-06 02:56 am (UTC)(link)
"At least four inches, from what I can tell," Anna observed. "I'd break an ankle." Or, actually, she would be fine, but if she'd been alive she'd have broken an ankle.

[identity profile] willbethenight.livejournal.com 2012-03-06 03:07 am (UTC)(link)
"I'm pretty sure I'd just fall over and faceplant before I actually broke anything," Bruce considered. "I think this is proof that my habit of wearing men's shoes has been a wise choice."
dressedinblood: (Default)

[personal profile] dressedinblood 2012-03-06 03:35 am (UTC)(link)
"It takes practice to walk in heels," Anna said. "Like anything that's worth doing."

[identity profile] willbethenight.livejournal.com 2012-03-06 03:41 am (UTC)(link)
"So do you think walking in four inch heels is really worth doing?" Bruce asked. He was a little curious what she would say, but a yes wouldn't be exactly surprising after she said that.
