1st floor lobby- Thursday after classes

Anyone involved with Student Council might recognize the setup: Annie and Rilla, a lot of moddable supplies, and an event to work on.

"Hi, everyone!" Annie said, cheerful because she was ignoring her mailbox in case it brought any more crushing disappointments. "We have a crush party tomorrow. So we thought we could spend today working on it." Throwing glitter on decorations was totally the same thing as making something look sandy and beachy, right?

Well, with the amount of glitter flying around the island, it was really only a matter of time before the beaches used it instead of sand, really.

“We have decorations to finish up, of course, and this is also a good time for last minute invitations to anyone you might not have worked up the nerve to talk to yet,” Rilla added.

If Bruce showed up to the party in the corset he mentioned yesterday, Rilla was going to be Very Put Out.

"Also maybe you could coordinate, just to make sure not everyone invited the same five people, or you can ask someone you were thinking about but they were really your #6 and someone else asked them so now you have a slot," Annie said. Not that that had happened to her or anything, but maybe it had happened to others! She was being helpful!

“It would be terrible if we held a party and only invited five boys,” Rilla agreed, looking temporarily mortified. “There are so many cute ones!”

"So let's get on that. Maybe calls could even be made if you want some support," Annie suggested. "Come on, girls, we've got a party to plan!"

Annie was a dork.

Hanna hadn't really thought about who she might invite, mostly because she'd been seriously distracted lately. So, for now, she helped prepare decorations.

She'd gladly make some phone calls for other people if needed.

"Yeah, I think there's some over there," Hanna replied, indicating a bottle of glitter on the table near the decorations. "I'm using gold right now."

Quinn was putting glitter on stuff to decorate. But it was gold glitter, so that was totally beachy.

... right?

Quinn shook her head. "My brain's been on play rehearsal and my mun has no brain at all," she explained. "Should probably get on that, huh?"

"We could just walk down the halls," Quinn mused. "Knock on doors, invite whoever answers if they're cute."

"I am kind of brilliant," Quinn allowed airily. "I'm in for it if you are."

"New and interesting," Quinn agreed. ",... so, speaking of new and interesting, are you ready for Petey Sci-Fi?"

Quinn kind of was. She thought. The accent still made her nervous.

Quinn looked a little dubious at that one, yeah.

"I'm not worried about forgetting my lines, but I always feel like Jono's laughing at Fuschia's accent," she complained. "It's not my fault I'm not all cool and European."

"That's what I figure," Quinn said, pleased by the compliment. "Anyhow, the play's supposed to not be great. It's just fun."

There was a lot of glitter, which Stacey found she could get behind. But mainly she was still writing a list of guys she might want to invite. And whittling them down.

Rilla was there with glitter in her hair (that she didn't know about) and a worried look on her face. The 'phone messages she'd received had been too bizarre.

And Annie had her concerned, too.

"Oh, goodness," Rilla flailed as she touched her hair and a small shower of glitter rained down. "This gets everywhere."

"I feel like some sort of lost fairy princess with it trailing after me," Rilla declared. She gave up on trying to get it all out of her hair and looked sympathetically at Annie instead. "The radio said you had some bad news?"

Rilla frowned. "To help pay for college? Could you take a few years off to teach first to help offset the expense?"

It's what all of her siblings did...

Rilla looked sympathetic as she nodded along. "How much will it cost?" she asked fearfully.

"Getting into a college is nothing to sneeze at," Rilla agreed with a smile.
