Bruce's preparations for leaving two weeks out were continuing. Today's task was to whittle down the eclectic collection of books he had in his room. He had plenty that he would be keeping, of course. But with the amount of things he'd be bringing back to Gotham from the cave, he needed to consider if he really needed to keep Trees of North America or Entering Space or even Racing Car Design and Development.

Seriously. Eclectic.

And so he hauled many of the less potentially useful books in his collection out to the common room and put up a sign saying "Free Books." While he waited for them to disappear, he was going to say goodbye to Code Administratif Des Etablissemens Dangereux, Insalubres Ou Incommodes (1832) by Trebuchet Adolphe, a French report he originally picked up because of the author's first name. Bruce wasn't made of stone. You see the name "Trebuchet" and you buy the damn book regardless of how esoteric the subject is.

Quinn looked vaguely panicked. "Wait, should I learn to play? I never have."

Don't ask why she had decided Bruce was an expert on Yale. He seemed to be an expert on everything else, and Quinn was a little nervous about the entire enterprise.

"No, I was kidding. You'll be fine without it," Bruce said. "I'm pretty sure most Yale kids spend their free time having parties like they do at every other college."

"Probably they're smart people parties," Quinn said distractedly. "They sit around and talk Foucault and recite the periodic table."

Not precisely Quinn's scene, no. But she'd manage.

She noticed one of the Skull-and-Bones books and went to pick it up. "Do they pledge girls yet?"

"Starting back in 1991," Bruce said. "As secret societies go, they're almost progressive."

"And I wouldn't worry about the smart people parties. You're more than clever enough to keep up with them."

"I appreciate the compliment," Quinn said sincerely. "And hey, they let me in for a reason. Even if i don't know the history of Skull & Bones yet."

Her hands hovered over the books again. "You read all of these?"

"I only skimmed a few of the more bizarre books," Bruce said. "But otherwise, yeah. I'm a fast reader."
