The Salle, Friday Afternoon

With nothing much to do with her time, Cara found herself in running through forms in the salle to burn off excess energy. Again.

Those poor, helpless practice dummies were looking even worse for wear then they usually did when she got like this.

[Open salle is open.]

"And what," Surreal drawled, blinking in amusement at the sight greeting her as she stepped into the salle, "--did those poor dummies ever do to you? Besides be ugly."

"That is pretty unforgivable," Surreal agreed, giving the dummy a skeptical look. "You would think it would have lots of practice avoiding such things by now."

Surreal? Also thought she was funny.

Surreal just raised one eyebrow in amusement. "That's almost said like someone who thinks she's learned better than the dummies, sugar."

That? Also a challenge and an invitation. It was very lucky they had compatible senses of humor.

"And that sounds like someone who thinks they have a chance in Hell," she bantered back playfully. "What, don't tell me you fancy a go?"

"Hardly," Surreal laughed, shaking her head. "Considering that my usual sparring partner is a male called 'The Sadist' - for a reason - this will be far more enjoyable."

Because then she wouldn't have to listen to Sadi's lectures, mostly.

"Weapons? Or just us."

"You say that as if I have anything to worry about." But Surreal was already moving toward the center of the space, pulling knives out of the various hidden sheathes on her body to stack them neatly out of the way. "I won't use Craft, either, but I rarely do in a real fight."

"So don't worry, I don't pull my punches."

Cara didn't need more of a 'yes' than the heel of Surreal's hand going for Cara's nose, did it? After all, they had already agreed not to pull any punches.

Most normal teenage girls probably wouldn't reply with a gleeful war-whoop as they took the backhanded hit, using the momentum to spin around and try and get a vicious kidney shot in on their friend.

Were Surreal more pop-culture savvy, she would, perhaps, say it was 'on like Donkey Kong,' but thankfully for both of them, that was not the case.

Surreal let out a grunt of air as the elbow connected, using it as an excuse to get in close and slam her elbow towards Cara's jaw.
