Main campfire- Monday evening

As princesses went, Sia wasn't really that spoiled. That didn't mean she was a fan of the tents. She'd camp if she had to, but sharing a tent with three other people was a bit much. She was happy to get out of said tent for a while, even if the only place she could think to go to was the main campfire.

She didn't know where the marshmallows she found there came from- maybe they'd been left behind by someone, or put there by squirrels in order to get conversation going- but she'd decided that she could try roasting one over the fire. That seemed to be what people did, and she should probably try to fit in.

She was also learning that not setting them on fire was more difficult than expected.

"Roasting marshmallows?" Terry asked, walking up to the fire and taking a seat. "Are you sharing, or keeping them all to yourself?"

"I suppose they're yours for the talking," she said, gesturing to the bag because she was now having to blow out a flaming marshmallow. "They were here when I arrived."

"Free communal junk food. They sure try to make the camping experience a little more enjoyable here, don't they?" Terry asked as he grabbed a couple marshmallows.

"I assumed someone had left it behind," she admitted. And she had had no problem using them as her own, because someone had boundary issues.

And now to try and remove the marshmallow from the stick. It wasn't going so well.

"In that case, 'they' is just a very kind or forgetful student," Terry said. "And they're still being helpful."

"I suppose. Is there a better way to do this?" she asked, sounding just a touch frustrated as she held the stick up with the marshmallow still on it.

"No, it's pretty much just put it on the stick and try not to burn it. It just takes practice to get it right," Terry said.

"Then why is getting it off of the stick so difficult?" she said, trying again and realizing that there might be bark on this thing now.

"Because when you're eating that much sugar, a little protein can't hurt," Terry joked. "I wish I could help more, but I'm a city boy, so I have to rely on luck with that stuff."

The next step was of course to just levitate a marshmallow over the fire and not worry about the stick, but she'd probably wait until she was alone for that.

"I do not understand the appeal of this," she admitted. "What city? Pretend I would know it."

"Gotham City. And don't worry, most people haven't heard of it," Terry said. "I guess it only exists in some worlds."

"I wasn't worried," she said with the tiniest smile ever.
