Second floor common room, Thursday afternoon

After several weeks of wandering through the walls of the dorms, dodging gremlins and squirrels, Arietty had concluded that not only were there no other borrowers currently in residence, there probably hadn't been any in a really, really long time.

She hoped they didn't get eaten by the gremlins.

What this meant, other than that all the borrowings were hers, was that the only company she was going to get was from the beans, and if she wanted to be a social creature, she was going to have to do more about letting herself get seen.

Which would be why she'd scaled the side of the couch in the common room, looping a long piece of yarn around the remote to drag it into place in the center, where she proceeded to flip channels on the TV.

It was good exercise, when the remote buttons required two hands and a decent amount of force to press down, properly. She wouldn't object to anyone else coming in who might have a better idea of what might be worth watching on the bajillion channels she was finding.
