Despite looking and acting like a complete nerd, Stiles did really have a love for sports. He just sucked at playing them for the most part. So he was actually pretty excited about college football starting up tonight and had the TV in the common room playing ESPN so he could maybe pick up bits and pieces of the game. Bits and pieces because Stiles couldn't manage to sit still and watch TV for more than five minutes without getting bored.

To fight that he had also brought his laptop out with him and was now sitting on the couch googling possible ways he could hide his scent in an attempt to keep Derek from knowing he visited a certain bar. Huh...would Cade mind if he rolled all over his sheets?

Coming back down from the roof, Sia had to stop in the common room when she saw her little sibling. "And how is your week so far?"

She listened to radio, but she figured she'd ask anyway.

"Um." To lie or tell the truth, that was the question. "It was the same old same old."

Being accosted by Derek and arguing with Jackson was normal for him, after all.

"No problems with anyone, you're settling in okay?" she checked. Because she would be a horrible big sister if she didn't volunteer to kick the ass of anyone messing with him.

She assumed. She was an only child.

"Everyone here's great. Really nice, barely comment on my...me-ness." That had been a problem back at home. "I mean, my roommate's kind of scary and there's some issues with some guys I knew back home that are here but other than that, it's great."

Sia frowned, and had to ask: "Why is your roommate scary?"

Olive, who had followed Sia off the roof not like a stalker but Natalie said, omg, actually stopped by her own room to drop off her remaining paper planes before wandering through common rooms in search of more free food.

A girl could dream.

"Whatcha doing?" she asked, leaning against the back of the couch when she spotted Stiles.

"Googling weird stuff," Stiles said honestly. He did a double take when he realized the owner of that voice was cute and quickly added, "But nothing like weird porn or whatever. I wouldn't do that in public. Or at all."

"I immediately went to the, like, animated dwarf toe fetish porn place, so thanks for the reassurance," Olive said seriously. "What kind of weird stuff, if not dirty?"

"I, um--" Think, Stiles, think. "--it's about smelling. Smelly things. Changing my smell."

He immediately winced. "Oh my god, why?"

Olive just full-on stared at him. "...you smell fine to me, and don't think I don't feel weird about saying that."

Bored Toby was bored.

And... not gonna ask about why Stiles was thinking about rolling all over some other guy's sheets because 1) ...what. and 2) that thought had not been voiced out loud, and after yesterday he was trying to be a little more careful about that.

He was, however, gonna squint at the TV curiously. "Who's playing?"

"South Carolina and Vanderbilt," Stiles answered. If he had known he would be so, so glad that Toby was keeping quiet about the incriminating things Stiles was thinking about. His life was awkward enough.

"I'm not like married to the channel so if you want to watch something else, feel free."

"...Yeah, I have absolutely no idea about anything when it comes to those teams," Toby admitted. "I really only follow football around Grey Cup season."

Jeez, Toby. Could you be any more Canadian?

"That's okay, I have no idea what the Grey Cup is," Stiles said. "Sounds like something you win at a wizarding school."

"Man, Jessica wasn't kidding about Americans and their knowledge of Canada," Toby said jokingly. "It's the Canadian football playoffs."

"Are you sad that it's normal TV?" Olive asked conversationally. "I'm not sure my brain can handle multiple evenings of cactibears."

"The Cactibear should be enjoyed in moderation," Toby said seriously.

"It's like a fine wine, or ammonia fumes," Olive said with a nod.

"So," Topher declared, claiming a spot on the couch that might potentially allow for a view of Stiles' laptop screen, "you were right about that jock guy being kind of a dick. As many jocks are."

"Oh man you met Jackson?" Stiles' voice was full of pity, yes. "Was he in the 'angry yelling jock' mood today or the 'I don't understand anything you're saying because you're an idiot' mood?"

"Second one, for sure," Topher said decisively. "With a side order of hugging his hockey stick. Or whatever that sport is."

Not hockey!

"Lacrosse," Stiles answered. "Hockey is played on ice. Jackson and I were on the lacrosse team together back home."

Olive eyed the boy who'd entered, tossing off a small wave. "Not all jocks are dicks," she offered, having caught a snatch of what he'd said. "Most, not all."

She'd known at least one nice guy who was sort of athletic, anyway.

Topher blinked. "Yes, that would be the common definition of the word 'many,'" he confirmed. "Derived, I believe, from the Dutch menig, meaning probably the same thing, but I do not know for certain because I do not speak Dutch."

"Okay, you're fun," Olive commented, tilting her head at him a little for that. "Why reference the Dutch root if you don't know for sure? That's just lazy citation work."
