2nd Floor Common Room | Tuesday Evening
Jim's hearing was just now starting to come back. That was an exaggeration but he'd swear up and down that the early morning fire drill had caused permanent damage to his hearing and he should be assigned a personal assistant (preferably a very pretty, very female one) just to help him through the rough times.
But, he figured that request would be turned down since the school probably spent their entire budget on free food. Jim would take that trade off. He was a fan of free food and he wasn't shy about that.
His trip to the common room this week had yielded some pasta dish that he'd found in the refrigerator (and managed to heat up without starting a fire) and some documentary about mobsters.
It wasn't Cactibear but what was?

Her question made him smile. "Because you've got nothing else clean to wear and damn it all, you have to go to class!"
That was a bad joke. Jim was amused with himself though. Nothing new there.

"That could probably totally happen, too," she said with a laugh. Because she and Olive had had that conversation about how it should.

He rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "Or maybe it was a towel. Whatever it was, it was cold. Really bad drafts."

"Well, I'm sure you made the blanket or towel look good," she told him.

Yeah, that wasn't true.

"And what about non-traditionally?"

Yeah, he wasn't serious.

"Okay, so no getting in touch with the wilderness. Probably for the best. I hate mosquitoes. There's always finding quieter, more private places for slumber parties too. That'd be more personal. More one on one."

"I think that's the big question," Jim replied thoughtfully. "I'm pretty new to these dorms. Don't know where all the secret places are."
If there even were any secret places.
"I gotta admit, I'm stumped. Should I ask the administration for help? That's what they're there for, right?"
Of course.

So, that was probably not a helpful answer to her question.
