Cade didn't have classes on Wednesdays, and wasn't really up to date on the whole Halloween thing, which was why he was staring incredulously at the bunny with really sharp teeth who was chewing through some kind of gourd on the counter in the common room.

"I'm not even going to karking ask," he told it, rescuing his Cocoa Puffs from where he'd stashed them and flipping the television on. He found the first movie of the original trilogy of Space Battles beginning on one of the channels and wondered why he'd felt a sudden disturbance in the Force as he turned it on and settled in to watch.

"What's that?" Atton said, pausing halfway into the common room just to give the rabbit a confused look.

"Probably a student," Cade said with a little shrug. "Must be Wednesday."

Atton shrugged back. "As long as it doesn't eat my lunch," he said, launching himself at the couch.

"As long as you weren't going to eat the orange thing, I think it's safe," Cade replied. "Do you know this holo?" he asked, pointing at the television. "Looks like it was made back when you were a kid a billion years ago."

Atton rolled his eyes. "I'm not that old," he said, though he had no particular evidence for or against that. "But no, never seen it. Any good?"

"The kid seems a little idealistic and naive," Cade said, "and the special effects are ridiculous, but it's not awful."

"Sounds like a ringing endorsement," Atton said, throwing his feet down on the coffee table. "...Wait, is that thing's ear falling off?"

"In the--" Cade looked over at the TV, then the rabbit. "That is disgusting," he proclaimed, making a face.

"Can't be hygienic," Atton supplied. "This school is going straight to hell."

"You get a new pet?" Jim asked when he found his way into the common room. "That thing really goes with your fluffy personality, Cade!"

"Cade's thinking about naming it 'Fluffy' and sleeping with it under his pillow," Atton provided.

"Awww. I think my heart just grew three sizes bigger at how adorable that would be," Jim said, mock sighing. "Cade is such a softie."

"Yeah, you know him," Atton said lazily. "He's all flowers and poetry."

"Goes with the eight thousand tattoos he has," Jim said, retrieving a bottle of water while giving that bunny the eye. "What's with the fluffy thing anyway? This place is like insane over animals."

"I don't know, but it seems to be really into that gourd," Atton shared. "I have a feeling I don't want to know, either."

"As long as it stays away from me, it can do whatever it wants," Jim decided, shaking his head. "I don't wanna be forced to coo over another animal. Been there, done that."

"You cood over an animal?" Atton asked. "This I need to hear. Unless we're talking about Jacksonball."

"I cooed over nothing," Jim said, waving a hand in the air. "Someone wanted me to coo over those puppies that were around awhile back and I didn't. I just didn't really see the point. It's a dog."

Cade made a face at him. "Having Stiles' boyfriend's puppy--" or something; it wasn't like Cade asked relevant questions to find out why there had been a puppy in his room, "--show up once in a while is bad enough."

"Stiles has a boyfriend?" Jim asked, picking up on that before anything else. "Man, guy works fast."

"Or something," Cade said. "Some older guy who seems to lurk around in the woods. So maybe it's more like a stalker who makes Stiles run errands?"

"Stiles has some interesting kinks," Jim noted, shaking his head. "Whatever makes you happy, right? Where've you been anyway? On a bender somewhere?"

"Terribly," Jim joked, frowning. "I pined away in my room every night, hoping for your safe return."
