The dorms lawn- Friday afternoon

Sia had Vitor trained pretty well, but he was a breed that needed activity, or she'd come back to her room to find it destroyed. So she brought him to the front lawn to let him run around unleashed for a while, since telekinesis was really good for keeping puppies from successfully running off.

After a while of sitting and watching him attack some leaves, she decided she had no idea what he was doing. And that he was probably having more fun than her at any given moment.

"Yeah? He's even more subtle about it than you are," Atton grumped.

He was petting the dog now. Shut it.

"And yet I refuse to lick anyone to get my point across," she said. She totally saw the petting and was just going to file that away, thank you.

"Trust me, I'm grateful," Atton said. Because she was a baby. "It'd take me an hour to get my hair back to normal."

Sia frowned. "Why your hair?"

"I don't know, licking," Atton said, making a vague gesture at his head.

[notconflicted]

"I wouldn't be licking your head," Sia said, unable to believe she was saying that.

[suitably_heroic]

"You would if you were working at it like this guy," Atton said, scritching the guy behind the ear. He seemed to like that.

"It's interesting being woken up that way," Sia told him. "I've yet to be able to train him out of it."

That actually made him laugh. "Yeah? You ever wake up with your hair standing at weird angles?"

That'd be a sight.

"My hair's too long for that." Which was the only reason. "I would also wake up to find that he would try to sleep on my pillow. He makes life interesting."

She was maybe glad she'd been talked into keeping him. Just a little.

Atton's mouth might have been caught in the tiniest smile before that went away. "I'd hate to say I told you so, except... no, I wouldn't hate it. See, you're a pet person."

"I don't think I'm a pet person, I think I just like him," she countered. "I can't imagine myself with one that wasn't a bit of a challenge."

"Okay, then let's scratch 'pet person' and let's just go with 'masochist'," Atton said.

He was going to not think about whether that said anything about their friendship.

"He's not that bad. And you seem to like him." What with the petting.

[suitably_heroic]

"I'm just keeping him quiet," Atton retorted. "But at least you don't have a droid for a pet."

He was going to give himself points for saving her that.

"It helps that droids aren't pets," she pointed out.

[suitably_heroic]

Atton shrugged. "Have you seen some of the Jedi kids who used to go to school here?" he said. "I was starting to think it became a thing after my time."

"I don't think I have, no," she said, thinking. "At least, none with droids."

[suitably_heroic]

"Either they had droids or they were the droid-building type," Atton said, shrugging. "Never got that."

He eyed Vitor and maybe leaned in a little. "You're a much better choice. You have a good set of brains in that head of yours."

"You do realize I can hear you complimenting my dog," Sia teased, smiling.

"Well, the dog's smarter than I originally thought," Atton said defensively.

Also, not a droid. He couldn't stress that part enough.

"Well, thank you. It's all my doing," she lied.

[suitably_heroic]

"Ha ha," Atton said. He patted the dog one more time before leaning back. "Talk the girl into adopting a dog once, immediately she thinks she's a comedian."

"Not immediately, this took a few months."

[suitably_heroic]

"Let me know when you have your first show at the Boards."
